It does something good with antioxidant levels in the lungs - I think Tylenol depletes antioxidant levels in the lungs or something, so they recommend taking NAC whenever Tylenol is taken. It is also good for protecting the liver from the Tylenol. The Vitamin C is taken with it because that is what I have read they recomend.
