Along the same lines, does anyone know what the global, post transplant period

for donors is ?? Is it 6 months or a year. I've heard both. Thanks,

Is it appropriate to submit professional bills, for medically necessary

physician services, performed during the global, post-transplant period?

It is my understanding if the service is a post-op follow-up visit with

the surgeon or a visit due to complications from the transplant it is

inappropriate to bill; otherwise, is it ok (e.g. for immunosupression

therapy and/or other medical problems the patient had prior to

transplant) regardless if the rendering physician is the transplant

surgeon?

Also, can we bill the recipient for any co-insurance or co-pays related

to these visits?
