Hi Everyone,

I finally caught up on the posts but really haven’t had time to send replies

I would like to have sent. I’m so mad with my computer! I had written a

whole lot of replies on Friday but we had a power cut and I hadn’t saved

them!! I just haven’t had the time to redo everything. I had deleted a

few of my digests already – having replied so probably missed a few

essential ones aaaaarrrrrrggggg!

Last week was hectic and it’s going to be a hectic few days again getting

everything tied up before I go on holiday on Thursday! :-) - big happy

face! I can’t wait! So I won’t be able to really contribute much for the

next two weeks but you will all be constantly in my heart and prayers and I

will try to catch up when I get back. The first day of my holiday will be

Thursday 31st and I won’t have access to a computer till Monday 10th

November (we’ve made a deal – no computers or cell phones – I’m getting

shaky already! LOL! Only kidding, it was my idea!). I’ve bunched a few

individual replies, for anyone I missed out, I think of you all. I’ll try

to post again before I leave.

I hope that everyone is having a bright and shiny, pain free day!

Hugs,

Heidi

Carol,

I’m so glad your Rheumy gave you some Pred and that it’s helping. I hope

your plans to go on a holiday next month pan out, you and Stan need a little

break together after all the hectic activity over the last few months. It

was interesting to read that you get dry eyes in a flare, so do I – I’d

never really made the connection but when I was having that flare last week

I kept complaining my eyes were dry. I must make a plan to go and have them

tested – but for now I’m trying to avoid any absolutely necessary doctors

appointments – I’m a bit sick of them LOL!

I hope you are feeling better,

Lots of love and hugs!

Heidi

Lynn,

Congrats on your soon to be grandson! You must be getting so excited.

You are in my prayers, I hope you are feeling a little better,

Hugs,

Heidi

Hi Jan,

I hope Richie’s okay and that it’s nothing serious. You, Richie and your

daughter remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care my friend,

Hugs,

Heidi

Hi Janet,

I’m so happy that you are feeling a little better. Donna is in my prayers.

It’s wonderful to have hope again, I will pray that this respite lasts.

Hugs,

Heidi

Hi Tess,

Your island girl poem was beautiful but it made me really sad for you

(((((((((((((((((((((sending a gigantic hug)))))))))))))))))) You are in

my prayers that the party goes well and that you don’t need to deal with any

undue stress, you are a wonderful woman!

Hugs,

Heidi

Subject: the conception of love

Tim, Jane, Carol ES, CM &

Welcome to the group! It’s nice to meet you all! You have come to a

wonderful safe place for support, information and friendship, I hope that

you will find as much love and support here that I have.

I’m 26 years old, South African living in Mauritius (and island in the

Indian Ocean) with my husband and 21 dogs (n – my husband – hunts and

they are his hunting dogs – and our babies). I was diagnosed with RA about

18 months ago and take Prednisone for now as I’m trying to have a baby (a

saga you are sure to hear more about as you read the posts in future LOL!)

Our dear Debs would tell you if she was better that it’s a “Cheese and Whine

party every day here – with no limits on the Whine” so please feel free to

share the pain and frustration that will naturally accompany these diseases

– you don’t need to hold back out of politeness, we all need support some

times – that’s why it’s a “support” group, and there will always be a time

to return the shoulder.

I’m looking forward to getting to know you all.

Take care,

Heidi

P.S. Jane, well done for giving up smoking! I quit almost 7 weeks ago now

– it was my present to myself this year! It’s the best thing I did this

year. Your card was very funny – it gave me a much needed silly break in my

day.

Hey there Big Al !!!

That’s such great news about Randi! I’m so happy for your family! Please

give her a big hug from me! It’s wonderful that all your tests are negative

and that you are finally putting back that weight, although the mystery must

be a bit crummy. Please don’t feel guilty about not posting– you know it’s

not necessary – we all have those crazy periods in our lives when it’s hard

to keep up but what’s important is that we are always together in prayer and

spirit. We know you love us anyway!

((((((((((((((((Huge hugs))))))))))))))) to you and your family,

Heidi

Hi CM,

Congratulations on your new baby! I wouldn’t advise the totally natural

route to look after the RA – others in the group have tried it and all seem

to regret it and be worse off for it. There are alternatives we can use in

conjunction with the meds but it’s a bit of a risk to go that route alone.

My Rheumy has said that prednisone is acceptable for pregnant women and

breastfeeding moms but obviously you need to think about the symptoms and

check this with your doctor. I've been taking Pred for about 18 months now

- since I was diagnosed - as I've been trying to fall pregnant. I must say

that I have been very lucky with minimal symptoms compared to what is

possible on it, at least visibly. Maybe you could discuss the possibilty of

going onto Pred short term to give you a little more time to breastfeed your

son.

I hope they find a way.

Take care,

Heidi

a & ,

You’ve both been sending some really interesting articles lately – I haven’t

had the time to look at all of them yet but I’ve saved them and will go

through them bit by bit.

Thanks!

Hugs,

Heidi
