Guest guest
All my research and HARD WORK paid off, of course with the help I got here so I cant take all the credit at my appointment yesterday!! What a great B-day present! So, my doc DOES feel this is ME as opposed to CFS, which will open me up to better treatment and most a much easier disability case. So at least we know I have that, Fibro, and now can move forward with the needed tests. I also did research on all the lab work I will need to have done by a specialist, so to save $$ and time he approved a lab order for everything that we can do, some stuff a specialist will have to do though, but most of it can be done now, so when I DO see a specialist, I am that far ahead! He also is sending me to an Endocrinologist to have some very special tests like an Adrenal Stress Test for example, and full testing of my adrenal, hormones, cortisol, and to also rule out a condition my sister has that effects the adrenals. Then, he approved a med change so I could start treatment using the same drugs used by specialists!! He couldnt start me on everything I did research on, but at least some - such as Provigil, Klonopin, and Cymbalta! SO there has been BIG progress! Now I will move forward with my claim, and also I have weeded down my choice for specialist down to 2 docs, one of which will ONLY see the severist of cases and approved seeing me. But it does not seem, from the website, that he makes the a difference between ME and CFS or even mentions ME. Im going to call and ask the receptionist. She may or may not know. Hes in New York city so that would be hard travel but worth it if he is as good as he seems to be. The other is also in New York, but not in the city and he is a HUGE name in ME/CFS and Fibro and is a big proponant of the name change to ME. I want to see if you all can help be decide which one I should go with or have any opinions/seen either before. The are : Dr. Natelson and Dr. Bell. What do you think????? Guest guest
Great news ! And Happy Birthday! I don’t know of Dr. Natelson, but Dr. Bell has been a champion for PWME for many years. Aylwin xox
Guest guest
You won't be able to se Dr. Bell so you have it even more narrowed down. Dr. Bell is my doctor and for about 4 years now has not accepted new patients. He's retiring and has cut his hours way back. Alot of times he doesn't even come in till 2:00.
