WEll I had my pulmo visit today..finally. I am still in limbo, but very happy with the dr and his response to my illness. He felt the DLCO test that indicated emphysema HAD to be wrong, because of such a low score...so he had me redo it..I dont know the exact number but I do know that I still 'failed'. He also is running some tests for 'bird fanciers lung' which is an unusual response to the protiens shed by birds..not a true allergy..but creates a pneumonitis<he doubts this because my lungs do not appear decreased in capacity on the PFT, but covering bases> and also an IGE blood test. He did say at one point that he felt my continued problems appear to be a hard to cure asthma attack...but then mentioned looking for emphysetamous changes... I had a

CT scan done also today...because of the wording on it I got in right away..which was nice I did not have to miss more work, but lots of people were running around thinking I had a PE...I guess my symptoms SOB and low diffusing capacity are a red flag..who would have known! Anyway, did all the tests he requested today, and have a follow up next Friday..he is only in our clinic one day a week, and required I was seen NEXT week. So it is VERY nice to not be blown off by a dr. Next week I will know more if I have lung changes on the CT, what the DLCO repeated showed.<only had to repeat that part, not the whole PFT>I really like this pulmo...did I say that already! haha
