Hi to Everyone,

I have been reading everyone's messages for the past month and it's

nice to know that I'm not going crazy or imagining everything my

daughter is going through. I have not posted yet, but due to today

ped. GI appt., I will burst if I don't.

My daughter is 3 1/2 and been on glycolax since 6 months. She has

bouts of constipation, diarrhea, being backed up. She's been up to 2

full doses of glycolax a day to help things. I finally had another

GI appt today, the last one being Feb 07. This past Oct. it got

really bad. She started staining her diapers, I thought she wasn't

finishing BM because she didn't like the feeling in her diaper. I

tried to potty train her until Feb and then I went to the dr. Xray

showed complete backing up of stool. We flushed her out and

continued the PT on her own time. By April she was fine. In

underwear, pooping like a champ, still the same dose of glycolax.

Overnight, went backwards, staining, constipation, mushy poops, etc.

This has gone since then. LAst week she got backed up again, after I

tried to wean her off of the glycolax. I added in acidopholis (Sp?)

which has helped, but overnight, again the diarrhea for 2 days and

then constipated for 5 days. This is why we were back to the GI

today.

LOng story short, GI said for the next four week, 1/2 dose glycolax

one day, 1/4 the next and to keep an Excel spreadsheet of the

results. That's all he said. He said further testing would only be

done because of ME!!! She has a tight squeeze in her rectum, how he

came to that conclusion. When he did her exam, she squeezed his

finger right out, DUH!!

I mentioned everything you said about miralax and his response was I

use Tylenol right? This was never tested for ped. use. HUH?

I mentioned food allergy. A blunt no, that's not the problem.

My daughter also has chronic ear infections and a little problem with

eczema.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was pregnant with her.

She had trouble with formula (b/c i couldn't nurse due to meds for

colitis), on Nutramigen, trouble with milk, only drinks soy milk.

Thank you so much for reading and for anyone who has advice.
