Guest guest
Hi Aylwin! Thank you very much for gathering this information for me. It is so very thoughtful because I really don't have much time/extra energy at work. I have decided not to get the rest of the Hep B vaccines (2 more). I wish I had asked this group before I got the 1st one! Despite me working in a hospital, the likelihood that I would catch Hep B is minimal. I am so upset that I even got the 1st shot, but I guess I asked the wrong people and read the wrong information about it not being associated with autoimmune and MS, etc. I got the shot on a Wednesday and I was very sick with a respiratory infection the following Tuesday and I am still sick with it over 3 weeks later (it takes me forever to get over these things). I am prone to sinus and upper resp. infections, but I haven't had one in 1.5 years. I was extremely run-down from moving and starting a new job and having to do some traveling to attend my graduation and a charity event, so I probably would have gotten sick anyway-- I pushed way beyond my limits.... but now I can't help but be nervous that I feel even more terribly fatigued than the usual terrible fatigue because of the Hep B vaccination. (Urgh.....) Probably not related... I will go with that because what is done is done....right? Anyway, I will not get the other 2 Hep B shots. thank you so much for your research and info! To all members-- Any thoughts on the annual TB injection required to work in a hospital to see if you have a bubble after 2 days and a positive PPD? I just went along with it because it is required and they tell you it is totally safe (of course). Thanks again for your wisdom, generosity to share, and strength. Guest guest
You are welcome Meghan – I google everything anyway! I am sure you are better off with one than three…and I hope your immune system rights itself and you are feeling better very soon. Can’t help about the tB though, someone else perhaps? Guest guest
TB tests,,, I for one think they are not worth it. I again took mine faithfully in the first 2 decades of my EMS work . then one year low and behold i come up with a huge reaction.... ended up taking 6 months of INH which made me sick. now almost 20 years later, after getting chest xrays anually I have now signs of of course TB. and won't let alone can't get those silly things. working around sick people and homeless people we never know when we are exposed.
