Guest guest
thank you for posting, I was looking for this article, this is one of the main side affects from Miralax...........................this is why I asked, if anyone was clenching their fingers, hypomagnesia, notice it says tetnay, I looked into this and someone explained to me that it almost sounded like tetnay, or Tetnus, she was right, this is why my dd became tight and didn't curl her legs around me when I picked her up when she was 3 instead she was stiff. She also would clench her fists like you would on a scary ride, when she was sleeping, you'd have to pry them open and they would just go right back into a tight fist.................Scary...............According to all my research Miralax depletes all these important minerals in the body, but for how long is the question? We don't even know if it ever leaves the body? Just check out the last sentence, how many times have we heard this? Somehow Miralax depletes everything in this paragraph, it's all there in black and white on the FDA FOIA reports.......................this is why they need their bio-chemistry checked, Pfieffer treatment center Many of her baby teeth cracked in two while sitting on the shelf in a container from the toothfairy, very strange, my other daughter's did not, so we know it did something? Alhough severe magnesium deficiency is uncommon, it has been induced experimentally. When magnesium deficiency was induced in humans, the earliest sign was decreased serum magnesium levels (hypomagnesemia). Over time, serum calcium levels also began to decrease (hypocalcemia) despite adequate dietary calcium. Hypocalcemia persisted despite increased parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion. Usually, increased PTH secretion quickly results in the mobilization of calcium from bone and normalization of blood calcium levels. As the magnesium depletion progressed, PTH secretion diminished to low levels. Along with hypomagnesemia, signs of severe magnesium deficiency included hypocalcemia, low serum potassium levels (hypokalemia), retention of sodium, low circulating levels of PTH, neurological and muscular symptoms (tremor, muscle spasms, tetany), loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and personality changes (3). But I think from what I read, the first sign of magnesium toxicity should be diarrhea., Is that everyone else's impression? Maybe you can ask the doc that, then feel better about just watching for it yourself? Many of the meds people take for my son's disorder are dosed like that - the dosing is individual, based on how the body processes it, etc. So it doesnt' bother me so much that there isn't a definite appropriate dose, but instead clear indicators that a given dose for a given person is too much. http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/minerals/magnesium/ sharry p.s. just something that pertains to us only from this article - I was a little concerned about what I read about cell signalling - of course, I knew that magnesium is involved in cell signalling, but I guess I wasn't thinking about it. It's been explored that my son may have a channelopathy, so I need to watch him closely for how the magnesium interacts with his neurological symptoms - which had occurred to me, but not on the level of "why". Mineral Oil Forgive me if this information is in the files. I took a look but didn't see anything. What are your thoughts on using mineral oil?Since we took my daughter off Miralax, she is really struggling. She is now taking 3/4 capsule per day of Oxypowder (which is what finally helped my son), but we're still having constipation issues. We've also been using some Natural Calm...maybe not enough. The GI doctor was concerned about magnesium toxicity from the Oxy and Natural Calm, and wants us to switch to mineral oil. My understanding was that mineral oil disrupts absorption...and she's already got absorption issues but he claims that this is not true. I also wonder about the impact on gut flora. Any thoughts would be helpful.a No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG.
