Guest guest
My son is 7 and has been constipated since birth. The doctors keep tellin me to giv more fiber and fluid and schedule toilet time. So 30grams of fiber and 30ounces of water and every other trick " in the book " nothing worked. I finally pitched a fit in the DR. office my son had been having random vomiting episodes and constant stomach upset. They told me he had a VIRUS:( I demanded an x-ray wich showed he was severly full of stool. We were instructed to do 2days of milk of mag and continue with 1cap of miralax every day. We did this for two weeks the vomiting became more frequent and the pain became much worse. I again pitched a fit and demanded a referal to a pediatric gastroenterologist. They gave me the referall but told me to do 1cap of miralax twice a day(BAD IDEA) we went to the doctor and they gave him an enema. A day later we saw the pediatric GI and they prescribed lactulose is it causing extreme diharia. He has been tested for wheat and food allergies no prob there. AT WHAT POINT DO THE DOCTORS FIND OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE EXTREME CONSTIPATION? DO THEY EVER OR DO THEY JUST TREAT THE SYMPTOMS? DO I PITCH ANOTHER FIT (NOT THAT I WANT TO)? HOW MUCH IS A SEVEN YEAR OLD SUPPOSE TO SUFFER? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE FABULOUS
