Guest guest
This treatment that I mentioned is Dr. Teitelabaum's protocol. He says you can take Cortef for a week before the thyroid, and I've been out of town so haven't yet picked up the Cortef. I also don't trust that the druggist is sure which is which. My rx says 5 mg Cortef, 30 mg Armour, and these pills are very small and look like 5 mg to me, so it could be the Cortef after all, or maybe they double-messed up and gave me 5 mg of Armour, or maybe 30 mg can be compressed into a tiny pill? It has a sickly sweet taste. Does anyone know if that sounds like Armour, or Cortef? Ay-yi-yi... thanks for your help.
Guest guest
I don't know about these two drugs but it does sound suspiciously like the drugstore made some sort of mistake, at least in labeling the pills. I would go to another druggist and show him/her the pills and ask them to identify them. Most pills have some sort of marking on them to make identification possible. You could also call another druggist and say what is on the pill and see if they can tell you without seeing it. Nevertheless if it is making you feel worse and you can't reach the doc then I would stop the drug. I don't know if you can just stop or need to taper off. Guest guest
I am on armour thyroid but not on cortef. To answer your question about armour...I felt SO much better starting it! I was on synthroid for years. I take armour sublingually which helps its absorption. It bypasses stomach enzymes, etc. I just take the normal rx pill & put it under my tongue. Hope you feel better soon! Donna > > This treatment that I mentioned is Dr. Teitelabaum's protocol.
