Guest guest
I agree. Although schedules can get a little hectic with travel, etc., now's a great time to find a routine that works, with supplements that work. Good luck! constipation - break from school Hi everyone-- I just wanted to say that now that most all places are on summer break, now is a good time to try to figure out "what is my child's routine time to go bm" and/or begin to implement a "sit time" at an earlier part of the day. I know for my dd, during the school year, things tend to get a bit nuggety for her, but I do expect that now that summer is here, and I can ask her to "go sit a spell" either around 2 or 4 p.m., then I'll probably see her stools improve. If you haven't already thought about it, taking advantage of the no-school time of the year to work on the constipation issues, is a good thing!I'm also going to play with getting her a second Fiber choice either mid-day or late afternoon and see if that also helps make her stools softer because if it does, then I can easily put one in her lunchbox, or ask her daycare (grandma/grandpa) to give her one when she gets home from school during the year.W

Guest guest
Here's an experiment I'm trying over the summer...letting my DD do " monomeals " if she wants to -- where she eats just one thing. That means she eats more often but less at a time. Which, who knows, might help. And I wonder if pushing her to, for example, eat fruit at the same meal with other things sometimes interferes with her digestion -- since fruit and bread, for example, are (or so I've read) digested at different speeds. Also, I wonder if sometimes I push her to eat more than she wants to in the winter, because we're always going somewhere and I don't want her to be hungry and cranky. Maybe just being more relaxed and spending a few months only eating as much as she feels like eating at one time will help. Maybe there's some biological reason why so many little kids seem to be hardwired to eat like birds...maybe it's easier on their digestion. We'll see if it makes a difference...I hope so because once again it's a major struggle to get any magnesium into her. Bonnie I agree. Guest guest
Bonnie, I always give fruit with a meal too....................good idea. I've also read that we're so dehydrated and really don't know it, especially in the morning. The first thing when you get up you should drink water. Abby's been drinking about 2-3 large bottles a day and is staying regular..............
