Sandy,

show this to your doctor.................look for drug exposure via breast milk...............and the infant that was born with testicle cancer. there are 3 different FDA adverse reaction submissions in the files section, there is also an article called fatal disnaetremia caused by elective colonoscopy...........check them out!

Hi, I am new to the group myself and have already learned a GREAT deal from everyone here. My daughter is now 23 months and she has had bowel troubles on and off since 2 months old. She also had AR and was taking Zantac until she was about a year old. My daughter is the queen of fiber foods and veggies and fruits, and she gets plenty of fluids, but she still just was not able to go. When she was less than 9 months, it was a frequency problem. No hard stools, but she would only go about every 7 days and usually we needed to give her suppository. After she turned one, she would still have frequency issues at times, but now it would cause her a great deal of pain and she would sweat, scream, cry, hold on to me very tightly until she finally went. The doctor recommended lactulose, which I took when I was pregnant. It made me extremely gassy and I had literally projectile vomiting. It is a very hard

medication to take for some people. So, I said no to that. Then he suggested one tsp of MOM a day. She still wouldn't go for a week. Then the doctor said Miralax and a full capful. Crazy. I also took this when I was pregnant and found out I was allergic to it. I told the doctor and he said "That's the first time I have heard of that", which is exactly what my doctor said when I took it. So, we decided no Miralax. What we have tried and just recently has been working (last two weeks). We are on our third probiotic. One called Nature's Way for children that we mix in her milk in the morning. http://www.vitacost .com/Natures- Way-Primadophilu s-Children- for-Ages- 0-5Also, half a capsule of Culturelle in her milk (the other half goes to her sister). 250mg (1 and 1/4 tsp) of unflavored Natural

Calm in her juice in the morning (magnesium citrate). I don't want to jinx things here, but she has been going every day or every other day for two weeks. And we haven't had to add in any MOM to "get things going" during this time either. I have thought about another visit to a GI (we went at 9 months old), however, I don't want to be told that Miralax is our only option. We also live in a pretty rural area, so good doctors are hard to find :( I hope you find alot of help here as I have!Sandy>> Hello everyone - this is my first time posting and I am so lost. first of all Miralax doesn't contain a protein so it's impossible to have an allergic reaction.............so please feel free to run this by your doctor as well!!!

Thanks, I'll look into those in the files section. I have read about the fatal disnaetremia caused by elective colonoscopy in some past posts...how scary. The part that made me the most mad at my GI doctor's office while I was pregnant was that the nurse asked me if I was sure I didn't have athlete's foot when I told her my allergic reaction (Which was small hives/bumps that were extremely itchy on my foot. It actually woke me up at night. I had the same reaction when I was allergic to codeine cough syrup so I knew what it was) Also, I think it was the Miralax website that said that if you break out in a rash or hives you are probably having an allergic reaction, so tell your doctor. He didn't even know that or at least he acted like he didn't. We have a new pediatrician at the practice we go to and we saw him last time we went in (instead of our other pediatrician) . I told him about the

allergic reaction I had to Miralax and the concerns I had about it and he seemed a bit more willing to listen than the other pediatrician. He still said that "rare" cases of things happening to children on Miralax have been reported, so he wasn't very supportive there. However he was concerned about my allergic reaction and didn't think my daughter should use it. > >> > Hello everyone - this is my first time posting and I am so lost. What you had was an adverse reaction to a chemical..............one cannot have an allergic reaction to something that does not contain a protein................they just call it an allergic reaction, but technically it's not...........and I believe you............... I've been investigating this for 8 years because my dd have a severe reaction, I started with only 6 people from the FDA when I first started researching this, I resubmitted every year for the last 8 years and now there are 869 adverse reactions I've obtained from the FDA and that's the reason and I decided to put together this group.................

thank you for sharing, hopefully someday we can stop this from happening to another child................

But I did have one. It was the exact same reaction I had to codeine cough syrup. An itchy rash/hives that started with my feet. Once I stopped the Miralax, the rash/hives went away.> > >> > > Hello everyone - this is my first time posting and I am so lost. > I > > > have a 16 month old little girl. She

Jeanie,

We are so lucky to have you. Thanks for everything. I just realized I never put in a adverse reaction myself. Add two to that list of yours.
