Guest guest
My little allergic neocate constipation baby is now on whole milk and going on his own every day to every other day!!!!!He is having perfect poops and he has 0 bloating or indigestion. He was at his pediatricians today for a weight check and she said he was perfect!!! I told her about the nutraflora and how well it is working for him, better than the probiotics. She explained to me that the nutraflora is growing not only good bacteria it is also growing good yeast. She said that is probably why he was not responding to the probiotics, his body also needed the good yeast to fight off the bad bacteria and candida. She told me that a number of medical clinical studies have been done recently in canida regarding this. She said they were studies on stool compisition. I have IBS with constipation and this is the first time I havent had bloating and I am now regular as well. I will see if I can find any studies for you. Now the most frustrating part is that she didnt tell me this earlier Why did I have to find this out for myself? From: jesscloutier <jesscloutier@ yahoo.com>Subject: What is the cause of this???To: miralax@yahoogroups .comDate: Saturday, September 13, 2008, 9:49 AM My son is 7 and has been constipated since birth. The doctors keep tellin me to giv more fiber and fluid and schedule toilet time. So 30grams of fiber and 30ounces of water and every other trick "in the book" nothing worked. I finally pitched a fit in the DR. office my son had been having random vomiting episodes and constant stomach upset. They told me he had a VIRUS:( I demanded an x-ray wich showed he was severly full of stool. We were instructed to do 2days of milk of mag and continue with 1cap of miralax every day. We did this for two weeks the vomiting became more frequent and the pain became much worse. I again pitched a fit and demanded a referal to a pediatric gastroenterologist. They gave me the referall but told me to do 1cap of miralax twice a day(BAD IDEA) we went to the doctor and they gave him an enema. A day later we saw the pediatric GI and they prescribed lactulose is it causing extreme diharia. He has been tested for wheat and food allergies no prob there. AT WHAT POINT DO THE DOCTORS FIND OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE EXTREME CONSTIPATION? DO THEY EVER OR DO THEY JUST TREAT THE SYMPTOMS? DO I PITCH ANOTHER FIT (NOT THAT I WANT TO)? HOW MUCH IS A SEVEN YEAR OLD SUPPOSE TO SUFFER? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE FABULOUS

Guest guest
Sorry to butt in here but I have a question for about your post re: cleanout. We are using mag citrate at 1500mg a day to cleanout too and an enema a day. Did you guys have to resort to an enema bag w/ tons of fluid? We are just cleaning out a small fleet-sized bottle and repalcing the contents w/ purified water and some olive oil. Don't know if that will be enough because my son may have been impacted for months despite a b.m. every day. Thanks, Carole --------- What is the cause of this???To: miralax@yahoogroups .comDate: Saturday, September 13, 2008, 9:49 AM My son is 7 and has been constipated since birth. Guest guest
Hi Carole, I think I have also seen you post on the low oxalate group? We just used half of an adult fleet saline enema each day along with the mag citrate. You need to continue each day until you get to the point where you aren't seeing anything formed. Sorry to get graphic, but in my son's case, after the 5th day, he started having massive liquid blowouts (as in using a whole box of wipes!). That's when we knew he was passing his bowels and didn't have any more obstructions (although we had the option to go back and do another xray at the GI to confirm). How many days have you done this regimen? I would continue to hang in there. Guest guest
Hi , yes we do LOD as well. I have only been doing the water and oil enemas for 3 days and he is still passing formed stool. When all this constiaption started with Tye (in April I believe) we did some Fleet's to clean him out but he had a tough time with them. They really irritated his system so we are trying this though the result is milder. Hopefully it will work eventually. Thanks for the encouragement.
