Guest guest
My guess is that he's got a blockage inside - and the accidents are what's leaking around. When he's active that tends to push some more out around the blockage. Can you get him to take take a full dose of OxyPowder or similar? > > Can you help me problem solve here? Our ds takes Nature Calm, 1tsp 1x/day in PlumSmart juice. He's been having a lot of accidents lately - but only with playing with friends. His accidents STINK, are sticky but kind of dry. He goes regularly - either when we tell him to sit on the toilet or he'll go on his own. Do you think the intense movement of playing (running, jumping on the tramp, football, biking, etc.) is causing the accidents or do you he's just ignoring his urge to go? He won't give us an answer - he just looks forlorn and regretful when we ask him what's going on. His tummy also seems distended, but how can that be if he's going once or twice a day? > At least our kids keep us on our toes - how boring would life be without all the conundrums?? > ~ Tracie >
Guest guest
Hi Tracie,If this happened to my DD, it would mean there was a large stool needing to come out...and causing some leakage. That could be the cause of the distention, even if he's going regularly. Have you thought about whether the amount that comes out is proportional to what goes in (how much he's eating)? Guest guest
Thanks. I will try...we'll use xylitol. That's what works for him when he's backed up. Now that you say that, I think that may be right. Bonnie's comment about proportion...what comes out is not proportional. I was thinking about frequency. I'll let you know! Guest guest
My son goes through stages with these same type of accidents. I think they just really are phobic of going and put it off no matter what their body is telling them. I know my son has the ability to keep his underwear clean because there will be weeks of nothing and then all of a sudden a week of really bad streaking. My son also is not very communicative about this.....we don't really ask anymore or make a issue of it. I just urge him when it happens to get cleaned up. It is frustrating to say the least. Guest guest
We've been pumping xylitol in him for two days...nothing yet. But will keep trying! I do believe he's backed up - his tummy his huge distended. Re: what's going on? My dd does the same thing and it always means she plugged up again.>> Can you help me problem solve here? Guest guest
i also find that an increase in fiber helps bulk it up (this is contrary to what the pediatric gi recommends, by the way - but found that it helps). good luck. dana We've been pumping xylitol in him for two days...nothing yet.
