Guest guest
Hi – Permission to Repost Here Come The Boys (not for ME tho’) Yes the celebs are out in force again, 8:00 pm on ITV1 some of the worlds best loved male artists getting together to perform to raise awareness of testicular cancer. All credit to them and to the organisations that have got together to ask them, at least they have got it right, and have representatives at the event. So why are such things happening for other illnesses and not for ME? Is it a question of leadership, knowledge or some other such talent which sadly appears to be lacking in the ME world? We have the organisations, we have the celeb patrons and supporters, or are they just grinning faces on a newsletter page, or a website. I once asked Jill Moss if after appearing on the front cover of the AYME newsletter Ainsley Harriot might take the case on board and for ME Awareness week actually mention it on his show with details of who to contact for help, he and the competitor could have also worn blue ribbons. As I expected, he didn’t, all Jill Moss could say was “they are busy, and their time is valuable” not to busy to smile for the cameras tho’. Yeah, if other illness charities can do it why can’t ours? Apathy, lack of leadership, no idea whatsoever? Answers on a postage stamp please. Surely there are some willing even if it just means being seen of men to sit at the top table.
