Guest guest
I haven't been around for a while but thought I'd let you know something I have tried with my 5 year old who was prescribed Miralax for chronic constipation (I only gave it to her three days and it was havoc, so we quit and turned to natural methods) Once a day I have been giving her either: Metamucil Cinnamon fiber wafers (2 of them= 6g fiber) or 1 All-bran fiber bar (10g fiber) although the fiber bars contain some not so good ingredients such as partially hydrogenated oils, they work wonders. She likes them so it's easy to get her to eat them. I also give her a yogurt a day and also try to remember to give her probiotics. This is bringing her back to being regular without the use of this damaging pharmacutical product. We also make sure we eat veggies, fruits, oats, flax etc. and things are going well. (Bob's redmill 5 grain oat cereal is great too. It's just like oatmeal. Add cinnamon and honey or brown sugar and the kids love it!) Hopefully her getting over the constipation will help her urinary incontinence as well (the doctor said that the constipation would cause urinary problems, I dont know what to think) Thanks to everyone for your advice to me about a month ago. It's working! Things are gradually and naturally getting back to normal. Trish from TX
