The Wonders of Arava & NC

Last week I took a trip to Bryson City, NC, to go on a train ride through

the mountains. We spent the night in Cherokee and went into Harrah's Casino,

where we saw the exercise guru, , playing blackjack. I took

pictures of him and actually got a kiss on the cheek from him, which was

quite a thrill for me.

We went to see a waterfall a few miles from Cherokee, Mingo Falls. We had to

climb up about 170 steep stone steps and then walk along a short rugged

trail, and then there it was, stretching up over 120 feet! It was

spectacular and well worth the climb. If you want to see what the waterfall

looks like, go to this URL:

Anyway, I was so glad to be able to climb up there so that I could see this

awesome sight! Before I started taking Arava, my knees would not have

allowed it. It is so wonderful to be able to bend my knees without pain. I'm

ready to do a commercial for Arava anytime. I guess I just did.

My husband and BIL want to go back and do white water rafting on the

Nantahala River. I don't think that I'd have the nerve to do that, though,

Arava or not. I'm basically a chicken.

North Carolina really does have some sensational scenery. Tess, if I were as

talented as you, I'd write a poem about that splendid waterfall.
