Guest guest
Kathi, and you are well-loved indeed, I'm quite sorry to hear about your father. I hope that his condition will improve very soon and that you will be relieved the terrible worry. I'm sorry that your own physical state is still bad. Are you still taking the methotrexate orally? Maybe injections would help you tolerate it better? I know you are still waiting for Enbrel, but what about Abbott's D2E7? I read through the study and I don't think you qualify, but maybe they would give it to you anyway? Did your doctor say anything about it? What is the status of your appointment with Dr. Mayes? Guest guest
Kathi, It¹s hard to be cheerful when you feel so bad. Don¹t ever doubt how much we love you Kathi. You are a cherished member and I hate to hear that you¹re feeling so bad. I hope the mtx kicks in and gives you some relief instead of giving you a hard time. Is the mtx giving you GI problems? Sorry about your dad¹s fall. I hope he¹s going to be ok. I will keep him in my prayers. a
Guest guest
Kathi, The virus you have is called sackie. I know it because I know a family that has recently been infected. One member of the family works in a pediatric office and brought the infection home to the rest of the family. Although it is more common in children, adults can get it to. So sorry you have such a miserable virus and hope it clears up quickly. I don't blame you for having a hissy fit when the mtx helps so much. Hopefully this will pass quickly. http://www.edcp.org/html/handfoot.html http://www.bioscience.org/1997/v2/e/ramsingh/list.htm http://www.bioscience.org/1997/v2/e/ramsingh/list.htm http://www.ibufamily.org/coxsacki.html a > a: I am sorry about your rear-ending, but glad no > one was seriously hurt. Guest guest
Kathi, Hope you feel better soon! Goodness, after reading some of the information in the links a sent, it is a wonder more people don't contract this virus. I used to work with a girl who had a fetish for cleaning her phone with alcohol daily, sometimes frequently during a single day. After being diagnosed with RA I find myself much more conscious of keeping phone receivers and keyboards disinfected. My former co-worker would get quite a laugh out of seeing me now... Guest guest
Jeepers, Rearended the same day your husband had surgery!? If that isn't adding insult to injury! What a time to feel crappy, trying to care for a convalescent. How's he doing? Hopefully, a, you will be good as new in a few more weeks. Suzanne Re: [ ] Ok Kathi - Where are you?? Humor helps to deal with a lot of problems, but I know there are days when humor just doesn't cut it. It must be hard to know if the sores are caused by the disease or by the treatment since it's common for sores to develop on the fingertips and knuckles in scleroderma. Have you ever had sores like this before or is it just since increasing the mtx? Did your doctor increase your folic acid when he increased the mtx? I hope your doctor had some answers for you at your appointment. I must have only thought I mentioned getting rear ended the day of my husband's hernia surgery since others have said they also missed that email. I'm loosing my mind, what little was there LOL! When my husband was brought to recovery, they told me it would be a few hours before I could see him because the recovery room was packed and there was no room for visitors. I had checked out the hospital cafeteria and it didn¹t look so great so I was going to get something to eat. I made it 2 blocks from the hospital and was stopped in traffic when I was rear ended by a young girl that was reading a map while driving. Grrrrrrrrrr. She was from out of state and lost. I felt a jarring of my neck, but didn't think it was anything to worry about until the aches didn't go away. I just hope my docs can fix me as well as the body shop fixed my car! They say whiplash takes 6-8 weeks or more to heal and it's almost 5 weeks, so hopefully it will subside soon. I should have just eaten the darned hospital food. Please let us know what your doctor says. I hope this Enbrel shortage is over soon. I hear the building is done but waiting for FDA inspections. So maybe soon you'll be able to get it. I hope you feel better. a
Guest guest
Suzanne, I¹m happy to say that is 100% recuperated. The body shop did a great job on my car and it¹s like new. Now if I could only get to where my husband and car are, I¹ll be a happy camper. My doc prescribed physical therapy, which I¹ll start tomorrow. He¹s also advising me to try the jaw splint for the TMJ. It¹s worth a try. I¹m hoping I¹ll be back to normal soon, thanks for asking. a > Jeepers, > > Rearended the same day your husband had surgery!? If that isn't adding > insult to injury!
