Guest guest
Jeanie, what is FOS and I am hypoglycemic and not diabetic. will it still help me? Also the Gi dr wants to do a colonoscopy on me using a solution with peg 3350 plus 4 dicolax tabs which contain peg3350. I am ccancelling it and am going to a doctor who uses phospha soda and he has done a couple of colonoscopies and my surgery. I feel more confident with him. Now the gi dr is treating my ulcers which is ok as it does not involve peg. Do you agree? thanks marg I will look into FOS and ask my endocrinologists about it best marg I read the article but its confusing to me and looks like its used for diabetics. Guest guest
FOS is the pre-biotic, it is a sugar they put in the pre-biotics that helps the good bacteria grow. A lot of probiotics contain prebiotics. i.e. Inulin. Read all the posts, they've done something with the sugar and supposively you can take it and it's not suppose to affect the blood sugar levels. Kirkman's contains inulin but you can get it inulin free as well. I thought you were taking a probiotic? Good job in telling them NO, good girl! Guest guest
Jeanie, I was taking a probiotic but entero labs report came back that I am sensitive to cows milk(casein) and the probiotic I was taking had a form of milk in it so now I am looking for another to take. No more peg 3350 for me. And I also decided not to get the flu shot. best marg From: jeanie ward <dreamjeanie@ att.net>Subject: to Marg FOSTo: "miralax@yahoogroup s.com" <miralax@yahoogroups .com>Date: Sunday, September 21, 2008, 7:41 PM Experimental studies with FOS in animals suggest a possible benefit in lowering blood sugar levels in people with diabetes and in reducing elevated blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.13 http://www.puritan. com/vf/healthnot es/HN_live/ Supp/FOS. htm
