Guest guest
Hi, The Rheumy that I see says I have PA; RA & Sjorjens. My eyes are real dry and gritty and bother me all the time. He said that fatigue also goes along with it. Kind of a double whammy there:( I use eye drops that I got from the Opthmalogist, and they do help, but basically all are treated the same way. Hope you get betters answers, Carol

Make sure you see an opthamologist (he/she is an M.D.) NOT an optimitrist or a primary. However, I don't know the symptoms of sjorgrens. Gritty, swollen and burning almost sounds like conjunctivitis (pink eye) - but go see your opthamologist. Good luck,
Guest guest
Are you taking Methotrexate (MTX)? I have heard the MTX can cause some eye problems. With my insurance I can go to the Eye doctor once a year. I went a few months ago, and told him what all I was taking. He says my prescription has changed a little, and could becaused from the MTX. Just a suggestion. Thanks, in Atlanta, GA --- TADEL630@... wrote: > In a message dated 07/22/2002 2:26:29 PM Eastern > Daylight Time, > costello@... writes: > > > > They feel gritty, swollen and burn. Guest guest
Hi...My rheummy called yesterday to talk with me about Sjorgren's. He received the opthamologist's report. He was so sweet & really touched my heart. He said there are more things to help control the various artritises, but with Sjorgren's you most usually just treat symptoms and it just runs it's course. I'm not having much luck with the various eye lubricants...the gel does last a bit longer but never works longer than a couple hours, and it's harder to measure the dose. This stuff is expensive. He said there is oral medication for the throat problems, but not so sure my insurance will cover that. He was so compassionate...he seems to really understand the frustration and sadness. We'll talk more a week from today when I see him. I'm really grateful he, and his staff, are quite wonderful. Much Love... Tess
