Hey welcome and don't worry about being in the medical profession and being

stumped.... I was just forced to retire after 30 years as a Paramedic and /EMS

instructor. It plain sucks , but there comes a time when we finally have to

listen to our bodies and say,, " if i don't take of myself no one is " .

today and last night i have had extreme 1-10 pain 15 on the scale.lol

and i can hardly lift my left arm and back and shoulder pain.

now this morning i have woke up with a splitting headache...

now is the time to say " bah humbug " and go take some meds...

you will like our group, we say what we mean, and that means alot to me..

Hi Abigailel,

I control mine with diet.

Candida feeds on sugars, so start by removing all sugars from your

diet. (And as soon as you start looking, you'll be AMAZED at where

sugar is added,... like in beef gravy!!!!??!)

Because you've had yours so long and find it hard to eradicate, I

suggest that you also start by removing the sugars found in fruits

too. So especially cut out fruit juices.

Be sure that you have a lot of roughage (fibre) in your diet. You need

to be able to pass out the candida die-off as easily as possible.

So you also need to drink plenty of water.

At first, you will feel worse instead of better. That is because of

the detoxification you will go through. Give it a good month before

you start to add in your fruits.

I changed permanently to using honey instead of sugar. I have found

now that many things are way too sweet for me. (And I was a

sweet-tooth before!)

This is just a suggestion. I am not a naturopath or physician or anything.

Hi Abigalel:

I read that you tried oral. I take weekly diflucan 200mg.

Though it hasnot cured the problem. It certainly has helped.

I also do probiotic shakes as well as oatstraw tea.

When I'm desperate than I have to use the creams.

Hi Debbie and Abigail, I highly recommend something called Stevia for

sweetening, it is an herbal product and has no effect on blood sugar, nor

does it feed yeasts & other fungi. My nutritionist said NO honey, I just use

a little maple syrup along with the Stevia in baking, because you need the

sweet molecules for it to come out right. There are many formulations, I

think the simplest and healthiest is the white powder concentrate, rather

than alcohol-based ones etc. (I tried the raw herb but it doesn’t dissolve,

you just have green crap in your tea LOL!) Mine even came with a teeny tiny

spoon because you use such a small amount. Aylwin xox

Oh yes, mary and Abigail! I remember now, having repeated yeast infections

in my youth while on the pill. And it was the OATSTRAW tea that totally

cleared it, I drank it for about a month, but if the problem is so stubborn

I would drink it forever. And so cheap, just the loose, bulk herb will do,

and it is an excellent tonic for the gut, alkalizing, and all sorts of good

things. Mild taste. Aylwin xox

Yes, Stevia is a really good alternative to sugar. The one I have

comes in small sachets. Very handy for sweetening drinks etc.

I don't know what to do when it come to baking though. Anyone got any

ideas if it can be used for baking, and if so, how much etc?

take care, ness

Wow Diane I feel like your twin sister. I have the same problem with my

left arm & shoulder. Have you tried Maxalt for your headaches? That's

the only thing that work for me. It's a migraine pill that melts under

your tongue. It works instant for me.

I was wondering if you have mold anywhere in your house? We do, but we

can't afford to fix it right now. I'm wondering if that's what's

causing my flare ups. I have Fibro, Chonic Fatigue, degenerative

Arthritis.

I used to be a teacher & now I'm all messed up. We just have to take

care of our health & forget about how productive we used to be!

Yeah that really stinks. That's your money. They should let you have

it all. I was wondering, how long did it take for you to get SSDI?

I'm now going to the hearing stage. I also applied for my retirement

plan. Does that mean they are going to take 60% of my pension?

Congrats on getting SSDI. It's been a long road for me, but in the

end I think i will finally get approved.

What a devestating illness we all have in this group. Have you been

tested for MS? I haven't, but i'm going to ask my doc about an MRI

since my thought process is getting worse.

well if you are retiring under the FERS system in the Federal government.

it knocked my shoes off when i heard that.

the thing about it is. that when i reach 62, i get my full as if i had contiuned

to work 7 more years retirement pension.

i just cried, it doesn't seem very fair to work for UNCLE Sam's Department of

Defense for 21 years, then get sick...

how ever i have always been told,, " well paramedics are a dime a dozen, and a

monkey could do your job " .. strange thing, i never see any monkey's doing any

job..
