Hi, Jan,

Thank you for the welcome. I am glad to have found this group.

I do belong to another one, but am thinking of leaving it even though I have

only been there a short time. Let's just call it " control issues " and leave

it there. As long as we are talking about groups, I own one for the wives

of the company hubby works for, and moderate three others related to women

who have ADD/ADHD.

I live on the Colorado River -- just barely still inside

California. I can see , AZ from the front windows of my home. I love

it here!

If you are in San Diego, then you are living in the same city

that my husband Larry and I used to live in some time back when he was still

in the US Navy. He has retired and is now a long-haul truck driver. If

your daughter is in Barstow, then she is near the point at which I stop for

fuel on my way to visit my sister who lives in Anaheim. Our family used to

live in Orange County before my parents built this home and moved to the

desert. Mom's arthritis was greatly helped by being here -- away from all

of the humidity.

Most of the time, I am so glad to be out of the city! Yet, I

admit that I miss the convenience of being able to drive only short

distances to get where I need to go. That is/was, at least, since all of

the aches and pains have really begun to test my patience. We, Larry and I,

still own a home in Arizona, so if we absolutely must move, we will probably

move there and I will deal with city living. I do not do well with the

noise, poor air quality, and crime.

Dianne
