Guest guest
I felt like I was reading a post that I could have written tonight. My first GI appt. when I bought up Senekot, my dr. said it was extremely habit forming and knows people who just cannot get off of it. Here I am 6 weeks later, him saying that Fri. he is going to talk about putting my almost 4 year old on it. I am opposed. Yes, she is getting backed up on miralax, been on it for close to 3 years!!! since we've seen him, we've been going around in the enema/miralax circle. But, yes I agree, why is she getting constipated in the first place. I'm going to call a chiro. tomorrow and maybe get allergy testing done. When her poops are formed she can go on the potty no problems. It's this leaking/diarrhea that she has no control over adn the dr. still says that is party of a training problem, also don't agree with!! Guest guest
Hi! It's nice to know someone else is in the same situation.I think I have decided to give her a clean out and then to carefully wean her off of the Miralax, since it's not working as good as it used to. Then, I'll introduce natural laxatives, such as Flax seeds (although this morning, she could tell they were on the fruit and in the oatmeal. Maybe I put too much ) I dont mind if she is on natural laxatives for the rest of her life. But I cant imagine her hopping from one stool softner to another to a laxative and so forth. If there's a good time to go natural, I think it's now! But we will see a few weeks from now where I stand Wish me luck. I'm combining advice from my GI and chiropractor. I hope someone can help. Will let you know! Now, was your child constipated from the very beginning of her life? Apparently my daughter will have to live with this the rest of her life, or so they say.Her body absorbs all the water in her colon, leaving none to help the poopi pass through the intestine. Why does your daughter get diarrhea sometimes? From: miralax [mailto:miralax ] On Behalf Of inserramSent: Wednesday, October 08, 2008 9:44 PMTo: miralax Subject: natalia-I'm in same boat!!
