Guest guest
Sorry I have been away from the board awhile--guess I am in my first really bad flare, as it has lasted a week now. I have to rest whether I want to or not! I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a flu bug or something. Go to the PCP next Thursday, and there is a new rheumy about 40 minutes away that he is going to refer me to. He's got me on Vicodin right now for the pain, makes me really goofy (moreso than usual.) Hope you all are doing ok, and I'll be back when I can sit and read & write and focus my eyes. Love you all, Judi

Guest guest
> Moria, Are you saying that the chemical sensitivity is caused > because mercury is still present in the body? I'm saying that mercury toxicity and MCS often occur together--- and that the merc toxicity precedes the MCS. > I was thinking that > it just created an imbalance that could be corrected. How long MCS stays around after mercury detox is another question. I don't know the answer, but I would think that the MCS should fade a lot as part of detox? Then again, allergies can hang on for a long time (after detox) > I used ALA until I can't bring myself to use it anymore. One tablet > now creates an incredible burning inside my vagina now. That seems really bizarre--- do you have any ideas about this? The only thing I can think of is yeast. Have you by chance tries treating this as yeast? > So I was > wondering if the metal is out and I am just creating an imbalance > with my own mineral balance? I have no idea what this would mean. I have taken almost 2 mg per pound of body weight every 3 hours for 3 days for many rounds..... not aware of this causing mineral imbalance. Perhaps you mean the copper/zinc thing--- unless you are using REALLY a lot of ALA or taking it for many many days this seems unlikely. But then again, I don't know what is happening............ > I don't break out in rashes or have > any kind of discharge at all. I had a PAP exame and all is OK. oh, well, I guess this answers my question -- sounds like you are also wondering what the heck is going on.... > > I discovered that taking Methionine and its cofactors in the EVENING > brought about a better feeling of wellness and sleep better. What do you think? The methione and arms/legs symptoms don't mean anything to me--- I don't know anything about this. Like, I have no idea if it relates to mercury at all. I have no idea if mercury is still a culprit (I'm not a big believer in ONE culprit). How long you chelated already would be one factor. If you want to do more you can either try treating the vaginal pain as yeast (and see if it goes away) (you might try this with a lower dose just to start small).... Or you could try DMSA or DMPS for a couple of rounds (but I'm sorta lukewarm on this since it doesn't clear the brain). There are lots of other things you could do to try to work with your overall health=== acupuncture comes to mind (because I'm quite fond of it). A plugged up body might also be helped by dietary changes, more movement, herbs, massage, or any number of other things. Please note I am NOT saying here that mercury is not " a cause " --- rather that if you want other types of treatments/methods, there are many. good wishes, Moria > > Liz D. Guest guest
Moria, Thanks for your input. Especially since you take a high dose of ALA and don't have any strange problem with it. Perhaps I am deficient in something that works together with ALA. I too belive there is more than one thing going on. I wish there was more founded information on this mercury thing and how it effects everyone. Most people are lumped into one category. But when you look at these kids you do realize the metals doesn't produce one pattern of problems. I have been hesitant to try the other chelators too. It was a good suggestion to try ALA at a lower dose. I'll try that. I did get into acupuncture and I felt well in other ways but this stupid plugged up feeling in my body didn't go away. It is very helpful to help you detox by getting your organs stimulated to do the job required of it. I am still looking for some clues and will stay close to the group. If you talk to anyone with similar problems to me I would be interested in hearing from them and sharing. You never know. Guest guest
According to Owens on the Sulfurstories list, biotin and pantheonine is helpful. It helped my partner. Dagmar. Perhaps I am > deficient in something that works together with ALA. you're welcome. As for the ALA, my responses may not be common or it might be, hard to know. But yes I have taken lots of it. > I too belive there is more than one thing going on. I wish there > was more founded information on this mercury thing and how > it effects everyone. Autism appears to be one of the common sets of symptoms......and, yes, autism is a broad range of symptoms / conditions. > > I have been hesitant to try the other chelators too. You never know. Sorry to say I don't have a clear enough idea of what would make someone else's problems similar to yours, and I also have an inadequate memory to be able to remember well enough AND remember that you were the person who asked etc. But I'm sure there must be others with similar situations. good wishes, Moria > > Liz D. > > > I have no idea if mercury is still a culprit (I'm not a big > > believer in ONE culprit).
