Guest guest
Will try to keep short 'cause I still can't type too good. Most of you know I've had two bony cysts removed from left thumb and right forefinger. Had only local anesthesia, no sedation. No pain meds since. Very sore but not too acutely painful since. Bad sleep first night, had to have a sleep aid last night- Margaritas. Left thumb has been less bothersome than right forefinger. Left cyst was on top of joint but right one was down in the joint. Surgeon had to a lot more work on the right finger, down into the joint, even though it was by far the smaller cyst. Bought small magnets and taped them over fingers last night. Made them throb for quite a while. No throbbing without magnets. Kept them on all night. Took it like a man;>) Took a quarter teaspoon of DMSO in OJ this AM, wanted to clean out residual anesthetic and IV antibiotics they gave me. IMMEDIATE pain in right finger, pain ramped up later in left thumb. Enough to make me snippy. OK, SNAPPY. Just short of grinding teeth. Why should mags and DMSO cause pain instead of alleviating it? Because they're forcing healing and forcing damaged nerves to work. Be careful what you wish for. Happy Thanksgiving! Arrgh... Daddybob No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
OK, so DMSO can be taken orally? I believe it has a sweet taste, to add to its long roster of contradictions. You will of course report to us the outcome of your pain situation and alternative treatment? ---- ransley wrote: > Will try to keep short 'cause I still can't type too good. Guest guest
Is a " bony cyst " the same as a ganglion (sp?) cyst? sorry you are in pain, DB. Wishing you a good Thanksgiving and a letting up of the pain throught the day. Mara > Will try to keep short 'cause I still can't type too good. Guest guest
Not sweet, rather bitter to me anyway. Always take on an empty stomach, some take it in orange juice, DB says not in milk although that is how I often give it to animals, or in chicken broth, what ever the dog or cat will drink. Oral dosing can result in a short lived flash sort of headache, presumably due to transient vasodilation. I have taken it orally with colloidal silver to kick a flu bug. Did so very rapidly. Guest guest
Hi DB, Having just had wisdom tooth surgery, I feel your pain! <g> I wonder if topical compressing would do more to block the pain signal in the C Nerve fibers than oral dosing? It would deliver a higher concentration to the area, also would increase circulation by local vasodilation. I have been taking 800 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours for my pain. It has worked very well and I did not have to deal with hydrocodone, or sedation for that matter. I had him do it under local and nitrous, which means I walked out and did not sleep for three days but kept moving and talking which I know helped keep the area from swelling as much.
