Henoch-Schonlein purpura diagnosis

My 4 yr old grandson just got back from the gastro doctor again. He

started having blood in his stool on Friday. Old stuff, not fresh from a

rip or anything. He also has a rash on his bottom and the back of his

upper legs that started about the same time as the blood in the stool.

The doctor is thinking it's Henoch-Schonlein purpura. He is doing some

test and my grandson will be scoped next Tuesday, the 30th.

We have had a rough time with him being constipated. So bad that they

almost admitted him in the hospital. He was on doses of Miralax that was

unreal! At one point - the ped had him on a capfull every hour until it

broke the blockage. He still takes it every few days if he seems to be

getting constipated. A low dose though. Can Miralax cause

Henoch-Schonlein purpura? Reading up on this disease, it says that some

medicines can cause this - but doesn't say what kind of meds. Anyone

familiar with this?

B.
