Happy to see you post, Jan! You've been one busy woman. Never a dull

moment with you.

There are a lot of positives in this story. Prayers for you and yours

that things continue to improve!

I sent a separate post on autoimmune hepatitis.

Good luck to you and your daughter on Monday,

> I haven't posted much this last week or so. There's been a myriad of

events in my life that has kept me going in ten different directions.

First of all, last week, my computer did a number on me and I couldn't

access anything and had a huge something on my screen that I couldn't

get rid of. After working with the high speed network poeple for an

hour or so, they decided it had a virus. Then early Friday morning, my

daughter called me to come up to her base for the weekend. There we

worked out plans for my grandson, Richie to be able to join her the

weekend following the last day of school before Christmas vacation. She

really seems to know what direction she is going in now and it doesn't

include her soon to be former husband. She also agreed to finally let

my grandson see his real dad after over 4 years. I drove back late

Sunday. On Monday, she made the trip down to go to Richie's counselor

with us. After the counseling, she met met with her first husband,

Richie's dad and after spending some time with him, brought him to the

house for a runion. It was just great! Tears everywhere plus one

extremly happy 8 year old that is still flying. On Tuesday, Richie's

cub scout meeting was canceled because the leader's little girl fell and

hit her head. So the two of us rested up. On Wednesday, everything had

caught up with me and I was having a flair up and went to bed after

work. Richie went with my friend's to the " trunk or treat " at the

church. On Thursday morning, the school called me and Richie had a 102 d

egree temp so I had to go get him and bring him home. We both went to

bed and slept all afternoon. When Richie woke up, he was holding his

head and crying. He couldn't even stand being talked to or the radio.

He was hot from head to toe and beet red. I quickly got him into a

tepid bath and called pediatrics. When they got to the part of

questioning him about his neck being stiff and crying out in pain when

he put his chin to his chest, they told me to get him to the ER

immendiately! I gave him Motrin and off we went. It's about a 15 - 16

mile drive and he slept most of the way. The Triage nurses went right

to work getting him in to see a dr. By the time he got to the dr. he

was his old self though red cheeked from the fever and laughing and

joking with the dr. It was just a virus, thank goodness. He stayed

home from school yesterday and this morning he is fine. In the

meantime, on Monday, the teenager that stays here, fiddled around with

the computer and was able to remove whatever was bugging the computer(he

says it wasn't a virus). This morning, I had to have the refrigerator

repairman in and now he's gone. Nothing major, it turns out. He just

did a few adjustments and eliminated my problems. Pretty good for a 10

year old refrigerator that has never had any major problems and well,

with the obsolete factor in things now, it's great. I have to run out

now and do all my errands that I can't do during the week.

> My grandson's other grandmother, has just been diagnosed with

auto-immune hepatitis. Do you know anything about that? Is it in the

auto-immune family as we are? She has been sick for nearly 2 years and

they just now diagnosed it. She experiences alot of the pain and

fatigue as we do. She has spent quite a bit of time in the hospital and

has continued to work though. Fortunately, she works for the schools

system in her city and only works 9 months a year and they have been

very helpful in adjusting her hours. I do know that it has to do with

her liver but am not exactly sure what. She never has consummed much

alcohol, just an occasional wine at a celebration. They took her gall

bladder out a couple of months ago(the new and improved simple way - in

in the morning as an out patient and out several hours later). Whe mine

came out 38 years ago, it was a different story.

> Will close for now and will try to be back on a regular basis again.

I have to run up to my daughter's again either tonight or first thing in

the morning and staying until after her court appearance on the

restraining order on Monday. One good thing about last weekend's trip,

we went to our church on the base and she has decided to become active

again after 10 years of inactivity. Several leaders in the church there

that are also lawyers etc. in the Army came over Tuesday night and met

with her to help her get started on what she needs to do to fight her

husband in court. More on this later. Thanks for being here for me

though you probably didn't even realize it. I've been able to read

every post at work but wasn't able to take much time to post myself. My

dept is being changed around somewhat and I had lots to do.
