Guest guest
I personally feel it is just as risky for adults as it is for children especially when it comes to the kidneys! I feel we hear more on children and side affects due to more children are immune compromised/gi damaged than adults due to there over antibiotic use and vaccines and most likely using more miralax due to the gi damage. An adult can actually use the magnesium citrate liquid for the cleanout, it works much better and as far as the kidneys it is fine unless there is kidney disease(I believe miralax is causing kidney disease)! This was used all the time for adult cleanouts until the miralax came along. The doctors prescribe the miralax because it has no taste(so just more apealing, not safer). Guest guest
Thanks, my sister is using it and I thought I'd give her some info. I'm trying to spread the word more these days about pharmaceuticals and all because most people think prescription drugs are so safe......... clean outTo: miralax Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 3:59 PM I'm wondering if it's dangerous to use miralax for a pre-colonoscopy cleanout? Guest guest
Kathy, Several years ago I posted an article in the files section where 2 out of 3 people died from taking PEG electrolyte solution for a colonoscopy prep.............It's titled Fatal Disnaetremia caused by Elective Colonoscopy, this needs to be read thoroughly, click on all the links, the bottom line is that they said that this happened because a certain bacteria was present in the colon.............They know more than they are saying about the break down of PEG. It states it in this article that the cause of death couldn't have happened UNLESS they had echeria-coli................so we need to dig further and find out the exact facts................................My physican obtained this article from the BMJ, British Medical Journal................. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/miralax/files/--- Subject: clean outTo: miralax Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 5:59 PM I'm wondering if it's dangerous to use miralax for a pre-colonoscopy cleanout?
