Guest guest
I've never had a flu shot and I work in the health care field. I read today that they are "formulating" a new flu vaccine that takes aim at the biggest spreaders of the virus (supposedly); our kids, Ugh! What next!! Also, a quick note about osteoporosis drugs that they don't tell you. These medications virtually destroy healthy cells within the bone. Only to rebuild in a way that the body barely recognizes. They say it strengthens and I suppose it may; void of the ability of the bone to absorb what it needs to be alive. That's not including the other things (like you mention) to the rest of your body. Doing research on these medications when my mother's doctor recommended them to her, left me stunned. I also get to read the monthly journals that are sent to the physician I work with. Holistic docs recommend a very good (food based not synthetic) mineral supplement for bone health and get rid of some of the things in your lifestyle/diet that rob nutrients (i.e.,smoking, too many processed foods, sugars, etc) to maintain healthy bone material and strengthen without these nasty medications. a FLU SHOT I would like to know everyones opinion on the flu shot. I get it every year and now I'm questioning it and am seriously thinking about not getting it. Last year I got sick with a virus as the doctor called it because in my mind they name everything a virus when they know nothing about it. Also what do you all think about the pneumonia shot. All opinions will be greatly appreciated. thanks margmessick Also speaking about shots my arthritic doctor wants me to take a drug for osteoporosis and you should see the side effects. He said its good for 1 year. Can you imagine whats in it to last in your body that long. I haven't taken it as it scares me when i read the litature on it. Guest guest
Marg, the flu shot only carries a couple strains which they predict over a year before they make it, this last year they admited they predicted wrong. It's an educated guess..........and it only carries a couple strands and there are thousdands of strains, so what's the point? Also, it has 25micro grams of thimerysol which is mercury, this is the real danger. I'm in the health care field and I watch these people get the flu shot in the fall and watch them deteriorate, loosing speech, just like they say it does within weeks of the flu shot. According to Andy Wakefield, they have this down to a science that when children receive their MMR shot (being it has the mercurey and thimerysol) they start loosing their speech within 1 to 28 days after the shot, after seeing the yearly flu shot being done, I certainly believe him, it's truely a shame...............If you are going to get it...............ask for it monovalent and preserviative free, with all the issues you have, the last thing you want is another problem! Guest guest
Hi there, I hope I am posting in the right spot. I think the decision to vaccinate should be something that you look into and see if it is right for you/your family and the circumstance. I am not anti vaccine, but I do not beleive that all are essential and I do think that we vaccinate way too early. I have never been fond of 'extra vaccines' and have never considered the flu vaccine before this year. My son has low immunity and had a really bad winter last year that had us all sick and him ultimately ending up with 2 bouts of pneumonia, one of which was after a bout of the flu, he just doesn't produce what he needs to get over a virus and then it turns bacterial. So this year I had the whole family done on the advice of our very good immunologist. I weighed the pros and cons and for us, we got it done. I have to say that no one sufferred after the vaccination (as my son previously has) and no one got the flu this year, in actual fact I would say it is the healthiest winter we have had since my 4 year old was born. Did the flu shot prevent us from getting sick, I will never know, but I will be getting done again next year and at least until my little is able to handle getting sick. So what I am saying is, work out why you want it done, what risks you would have by having it, and what risks by not having it. If you do get it done there are homeopathic remedies you can get that reduce side effects and also brace the immune system for the vaccine. Good luck. > > > Subject: FLU SHOT > To: miralax > Date: Monday, September 8, 2008, 10:26 PM > > > > > > > I would like to know everyones opinion on the flu shot. Guest guest
Jeanie, I made a huge mistake in Nov.02 and got a flu shot. Three days later I was in the ICU with a severe pancreatic attack and I never had any issues like this before. I almost died. I had fluid in my lungs, high blood pressure, a tube in my stomach for 2 weeks, antibiotics, blood sugar increase, severe, severe pain. I was very lucky to get out of the hospital in 2 weeks. It took 6 more weeks to recover. To this day I still have stomach issues, but have never had anything serious with my pancreas again. Just sharing to let others know how devastating this injection can be for some............. Guest guest
Marg, I feel that with your medical issues this would be a risk for you. As most know in this group I am completely against vaccines! I dont believe they work and just fatten a lot of wallets. I do respect those that feel vaccines are ok, just remember our situation has greatly affected how I feel about them and I have dedicated over 3yrs learning as much about them as I can. First, the flu shot is still loaded with mercury the 2nd most toxic metal on earth. Also has aluminum, anti freeze, msg, formaldihyde, the list goes on and on. The flu vaccine has been linked to the uprise in alzheimers, this is most likely the mixture of chemicals but specifically the aluminum! I have never had the flu shot and have quite easily avoided most flus and the one flu we did get we was able to recover with natural. My youngest most immune compromised child also has not had and has been recovering from flu's etc on his own with natural, he couldnt do this when younger and being loaded with vaccines. The flu vaccine has also been thought to give the flu, I honestly doubt this(could be wrong) but lean more in the weakened immuned caused from the vaccine and then vulnerable to all virus's/medical issues. There are thousands and thousands of strans of flu out there and even the cdc can only admit that the vaccine MIGHT help with just a couple. Honestly in what I have seen over the last few years is those vaccinating are the ones who seem to have more illness's. I know of some who are loyal to the vaccine and swear it worked for them and then wham, they get it another year and become deathly sick. It is really just the russian roulette when it comes to the flu, not the vaccines preventing it! Even the measle outbreaks have been in those that have been vaccinated. Well I can go on and on about this, but truely I am concerned with you being in this vulnerable medical state of getting the vaccine! I would focus(even if you decide to get it, actually especially if you do) to start pumping your body with naturals like Vitamin C, OLE(make sure about this one with your doctor due to your hypoglycemic issue)you can use the oils in your food though, garlic(dont use if on blood thinners), etc. etc. Avoid being around those who are obviously sick, wash hands a lot etc. Marg, I am curious of when you started doing the flu vaccines and possibly wondering if some of your medical issues may have been triggered from them. The affects of damage can take months, that is what is so decieving about vaccines and why most dont see the connection between medical issue's and vaccines being the trigger. Please really if you are able to start really focusing on better eating/natural supplementing so we can see you get better! Avoid tap water, you really need to build up your good bacteria in the gut,the chlorine well destroy the gi tract and this is about 80% of our immune. Are you on magnesium(every cell in the body needs this), co-q10(this is vital for your heart issues and well give you more energy)? Avoid all sugars, these feed the mycotoxins(cause of most ailments) and also well weaken the immune(1 can of soda well lower the immune dangerously for up to 6hrs after drinking due to the sugars etc)! Marg this is just something you gotta follow your own instincts on weither you feel you need the vaccine or not(is it your instincts making you leary now?). Just take all we all have to say and do what you feel is best! Jennie<>< > > I would like to know everyones opinion on the flu shot. Guest guest
Hello and all,My endocrinologist told me to avoid any kind of vaccine because I have this autoimmune diseas.Teo.Subject: Flu ShotTo: Thyroiditis Date: Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 2:03 AM Is it okay to get the flu shot? I had one once - before I developed thyroid disease and I actually got sick, felt like the flu, but it passed and I was fine. I never had one after that and never had the flu either, surprisingly enough! Is there any reason not to have the REGULAR flu shot if one has hashimoto's and possibly graves? My doctor is urging me to get it, especially because I will have to do some traveling on planes very soon. I don't think I am going to consider H1N1 but would love to hear what others think about both the REGULAR and h1n1. Thank you.

Guest guest
Hi and all... Here are links to some very shocking info that most doctors ignore or don't bother to get informed about. I don't think a flu shot is beneficial to anyone with or without autoimmune disease. >>>The most intriguing deception of the public, however, is the suggestion that the patient who gets an influenza-vaccination will not get the flu. What is generally known to the public as 'a flu' is an influenza-like syndrome, with symptoms like fever, chills, muskel- or joint pains, a headache, a runny nose, and general malaise. This disease, however, has got nothing to do with the real influenza; neither can it in any way be prevented by an influenza vaccination. Thus, if doctors guarantee their patients that they will not get the flu after they came in to get their jab, this is an unethical manipulation, the basis for which most probably is simply profit for both those who produce the vaccine and those who administer it.<<< Read the entire article at: http://www.whale.to/vaccine/flu3.html I take this health newsletter which is full of everyday good health info. Here is a link to the flu... http://chetday.com/noflushots.htm If you read the entire article you'll see Chet mentions the small pox vaccination. My dad also died from it and he never let us have even polio vaccinations that they gave in the 60s. I got my first tetanus vaccination in my 30s and also was given rubella vaccination after my first child was born without my knowledge or consent. , my hubby had to get a flu shot every year when he was active duty Air force and every year he brought the flu home to us all. Since retiring none of us has had the flu. I don't plan to start getting a flu either. Shomon wrote an article on this very thing a couple months ago... Do Thyroid Patients Need a Flu Shot? <<<The issue of this connection between vaccination and other autoimmune illnesses is a controversial one, however. Still, some practitioners caution their autoimmune disease patients to avoid immunizations whenever possible, because they believe that the safety of immunizations for people with autoimmune diseases -- including autoimmune thyroid conditions like Hashimoto's disease and Graves' disease -- has not been sufficiently examined.>>> http://tinyurl.com/m4sp4x If you trust Dr. Mercola -- here's what he says on swine flu... http://tinyurl.com/m282pc It really boils down to what and who you believe. I don't believe some vaccinations are safe while others outweight the risk. though there's no way I'll be getting ANY flu shot any time soon. I wish you and everyone a flu-free season and overall good health. P.S. If anyone out there with autoimmune gets the flu shot this season and has any feedback, it would be great if you could share this. Guest guest
Hi Ruth, Isn't Tocco the one who sells a DVD " Are Vaccines Safe? " for only $24.95? The DVD tells you a lot of things you can access and read on the Internet for free. Maybe she has some good things to share, but the way she does it just tunes me out. That, plus the company she keeps. ~Bj > > Google Tocco's videos. >
Guest guest
I have no idea about the company she keeps. I have not spent money or time at her site. I do know that I found a great series of her seminar on Youtube, which was very informative and factual, not emotional. Those were what I was referring to. Guest guest
I have Hashi's & got a flu shot two years ago. I have never recovered from it. I did not know that I had Hashi's at the time. I did know that I had fibromyalgia. Afterwards I felt sick to my stomach & dizzy. I got sick w/ a virus the next day tha within a month turned into a sinus infection. I had hair loss, incredible fatigue, symtptoms of diabetes insipidus & could no longer handle any stress. I am not unable to work at all or function much at all in life. If I could go back in time I would never have gotten that flu shot. I do take natural things to boost my immune system now. > > > >
Guest guest
Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry that you had and have to go thru this. am i correct to assume that your doctor(s) did not/would not attribute this to the flu vaccine? Did you have hashi's symptoms prior to the flu vaccine? again, i am so sorry. i know how difficult it is to live without being able to function. i hope that things will turn around for you. i pretty much have made my mind up not to get the flu shot despite urging of my doctor and the angst of my family. thank you again. sending you warm wishes and wishing you better days. cathy amagi10 wrote: > > > I have Hashi's & got a flu shot two years ago. Guest guest
I had symptoms of fibromyalgia which are similar to some of the Hashi's symptoms. I think thyroid problems are part of fibromyalgia. It took me over a year to figure out that the flu shot caused the problems. It really messed up my ability to think clearly. By then I had already fired my previous Dr. He had told me that there was no way that my hair loss could be a thyroid problem & that I just needed to exercise more. Later I found out that I had Hashi's. I started on natural dessicated thyroid medication and that reveresed my hair loss, carpal tunnel pain went away, shoulder, hip & arm pain went down tremondously. Without it I would be in bed all day. To boost my immune system I take 1000mg Vit C powder 3x a day, Vit E & a supplement called EpiCor. Ecineahea may make H1N1 flu worse so, I don't take that anymore. I don't get sick very often anymore & if I do it is very very mild. Since I have asthma it is important that I take some steps to keep from getting any really bad flu. Still working on getting the Hashi's & other health issues under control. good luck w/ family & your Dr. I find that sometimes people just need to feel that they have been listened to & that their concerns have been heard but in the end it is your decision. > > Thank you for your feedback.
