Guest guest
Hi everyone- I have a patient with metastatic melanoma who has decided to try chemotherapy. Because the dacarbazine depresses WBCs, he needed a shot of Neulasta to bring his counts back up before getting the next round of the chemo. He has experienced some abdominal pain after the shot and while his spleen checked out fine, he is worried about the potential side effect of splenic rupture with the Neulasta. Does anyone have any suggestions for something to specifically increase his WBCs and RBCs? Because he is already on a very comprehensive treatment plan for the cancer and cancer process, I'd like any additions to be simple. Thanks- Hindman, ND, LAc Portland, OR family practice
