Guest guest
Hi Sue, I am glad to hear that you are having less TMJ pain and I hope that your rheumy will have some answers for you. I forgot to tell you that there are TMJ stretching exercises that you can do that could perhaps help. But, I would ask an oral surgeon if they would recommend them. I know that surgery is controversial; especially the way that the surgery was done twenty years ago, but in my case it was extremely helpful. When they ground down the bone spurs, it enabled my jaw to once again glide when moving instead of locking up. I still do not have any pain in that side of my jaw. So, I still would get several opionins before having any surgery because any surgery is risky. Let us know what your dr has to say. I hope you continue to have relief. I always found that not talking too much for a few days or going on a soft diet and warm cloths were helpful. Have a good evening.
