Guest guest
Hi, I have been diagnosed with Hashimotos for about a year now. I am currently taking cortisone, and levoxyl with a small dose of armour I added myself in the a.m. I take the levoxyl at night. 100 mcg. I did this and I like that I wake up in the morning with energy. I have always wanted to go to full armour and my physician is willing to try this but I always seem to have the opposite effects everyone else dose. Too much cortisone and I swell. switched to isocourt and on just 1 pill I am extremely irritable and breathless. A few months ago my physician gave me a prescription for armour and told me to drop the 100 mcg and start 1 pill of the armour and we would test from there. I of course stupidly did not want to do that so I started weaning the levoxyl and added the armour (1/4) pill armour with 3/4 dose levoxyl and so on. Very Very quickly I began having weakness in my muscles, extreme fatigue, swelling in my throat, breathlessness etc. My sed rate went up and I went hyperthyroid(though I would have sworn it was hypo) So I am back on the medicine I am on now, my numbers all look good (though we are rechecking the free's) but they have been in the high end. My inflammation is still up which bears another question. I cannot seem to take the armour without taking the cortisone with it. It gives me the worst headache. I am wondering if I am allergic to it and the cortisone just stops the reaction? My symptoms now are just I cannot lose weight no matter what. I am still battling some hair loss, some puffiness with water retention, and some period problems, and on/off palps, seems i cannot take any stimulants what so ever (sugar, caffeine all give them to me) I also tried bio identical progresterone and it immediately brought on my period, and vital nutrients pms pill helped with symptoms but caused extreme itching. Any ideas on switching to armour, or should I just leave well enough alone. Crystal
