Guest guest
My doctor prescribed Allegra-D for me last year. I took it every day with no problems. She told me to take it as I needed it--if the symptoms disappeared, stop taking it; if they came back, start again. I did as she said and just recently started taking it again. Well, for whatever reason, it gives me the jitters. I have taken a lot of antihistamines over the years, and they always left me feeling out of myself. I never had that prob w/Allegra till now. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, a week ago Monday I had what I thought was a bad migraine, but nothing helped the pain and the nausea was unbearable. I ate nothing for the week. My blood pressure was dropping real low and when I talked to my mom, she told me to go to the ER. I finally went on Sunday and the doctor said my eardrum was really retracted and that was causing the headaches and nausea. All of this she said was caused from allergies. So, she said the only thing that would get the eardrum back to normal would be to take Claritin. But now I'm afraid to take the Claritin because if I'm having a reaction to Allegra, I might have the same to Claritin. I don't know if I can even take them at the same time. I need to go back to my doctor, but it's hard getting in with her. Who knew allergies could make you feel so crappy. -- " Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. Guest guest
Hello, I have taken Allegra as needed for quite a while as well and one time, after taking it, I did experience a shaky, jittery feeling I had not felt before on it. I have no idea what may have caused it, maybe something else was in system and somehow reacted, I don't know. The next time I needed to take it, it was fine again. So I think you may need to do it one more time to see if was really the Allegra and if it will continue to happen. I think Claritin and Zyrtec are other good options if you need to switch, they are considered so safe now that even children and pregnant women take them. > > My doctor prescribed Allegra-D for me last year. Guest guest
Hi, I don't post very often, but I do read all posts. I can't take anything with a decongestant, I get very shaky from them. That would mean anything with a D in it, I have to stay away from. I can't even take any cough medicine, except the Ludens cough drop. Also, I was taking Advair, then stopped it, and when I went back on it, my heart was racing for about 3-4 hours. I don't know what causes this. My doctor switched me to Symbicort this week, and so far I just feel a little shaky, but my doctor told me to give it a week to see if it went away. If I still get shaky, he wants me to use it only once a day for a week. If I still have a problem, I have to call him. Some people just have a sensitivity to certain medicines I guess. Guest guest
Elaine, Many years ago, I found out I cannot take extended release sudafed - but I am fine with regular short acting. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I can't take anything with a D in it, either. About the Advair - does that have Serevent in it? I had a weird heart reaction when I tried Serevent. That was years ago though. Alana > > Hi, > > I don't post very often, but I do read all posts. Guest guest
Debbie, Have you tried the short acting sudafed? Guest guest
Hi Alana, Yes, the Advair had the Serevent. I think that is what I was reacting to. I tried it two times, and I had the same reaction the second time. That was it for me, I never tried it again. Debbie in Chicago
