Hi Tess: I see you are up tonight also. I made a quick trip to my daughter's

(440 miles round trip)leaving Thanksgiving morning and returning Friday

afternoon. I am paying for it today and especially tonight. My shoulders and

hip have really been on me today. The only relief (somewhat) is the Theracare

pads on the painful spots. Fortunately, there have been several $1.00 coupons

lately and my local supermarket doubles coupons all the time plus they have been

on sale lately. The only real relief that I've had recently though has been the

little over a week that I was Predisone for the Asthma infection. There were 4

days that my pain was down to a 2 and I thought I had died and gone to heaven

it's been so long since I have had a painfree day.

I went into this site you posted and found quite a bit of interesting reading.

I have had dry eyes for several years now especially at night when it wakes me

up. The feeling is that there are grains of sand in my eyes and gooey matter.

Don't have it as often now as I used to but it's one of the things I mentioned

to my old doctor and he said (repeatedly on many things) " I don't see anything.

You look fine. Maybe if you went on a diet and exercised more these things

wouldn't happen to you. " It's probably not SJS but I am curious as to what it

might be. Maybe he's right.

I have an appointment with my dr on the 16th. I have been having a lot of pain

in particularly my left breast and sometimes, the right one seems to ache in

sympathy.

I haven't posted much lately because by the time I go through my mail, I am so

tired and hurting that I have to struggle up from the chair and walk around a

few minutes to be able to stand up straight and then go to bed.

Keep your fingers crossed for me. Tomorrow, my ex-son in law is coming over and

hopefully hooking up my new(ha ha, one year old)printer that has not been

compatible with my computer as it only has Windows 95. It will be great to

print things out and keep them. I try to print a few things at work(take my own

paper) but have been so busy lately, haven't been able to take the time.

I'm glad you had a nice thankgiving with your family. Did you make your Pecan

pie. I was able to make a Pumpkin pie but wasn't able to make the Caramel Pecan

pie that I wanted to. I did make the giblet gravy and wild and brown rice

stuffing that my daughter always requests.

Guess I will close now and to you and all the " family " - hope you have a

painfree night and an even better tomorrow. Love, prayers, hugs, and positive

thoughts. Jan in CA +/:=)

Hi Jan... About the printer. I had to have new hardrive put in this past

summer. And when I did, I had a new ADOBE program, so I updated my

already in use SCANNER. The HP Deskjet printer ran off the SCANNER.

Well... everytime I tried to print, it gave the flags of problem. Then I

tried to reinstall the Software for the HP Deskjet it came with, and it

told me that it was only COMPATIBLE with the Win 95. My computer guy

updated and gave me newer Windows program, and he could not figure.

Well, out of desperation (needed something printed badly) the other

night, I finally unhooked the SCANNER from my computer Tower and Hooked

the HP Deskjet PRINTER directly up to the Tower instead. (Bypassing the

SCANNER and coming direct from COMPUTER to PRINTER now)... and now, It

prints. But...If I want to SCAN, I have to unhook the PRINTER from tower

and hook up the SCANNER!!! Ha! Am not too keen on getting back down on

my hands and knees and trying to maneuver all that over and over, but

for now, this is only way!

Ha! It was the newer Scanner program keeping it from printing... NOT the

New WINDOWS program. Seems the PRINTER is compatible with other WIndows

versions than just the Win. 95.

See if that works for you.

Thanks, Susie. I see you are still up also. I was just going to head for bed

and try to get some rest. It's now 1:40 here and all good gals need to be in

bed.

My son in law says he is not sure that the printer will work(it's a Lexmark 3 in

1, printer, scanner, copier) and feels I should get another more up to date

computer. He may suprise me tomorrow. I had bought a USB port and a few other

things and the computer just would not accept a printer. He says there is just

so much you can do with an old computer. And I am so computer illiterate that I

only know only the rudimentary things to be able to be a User. Keep your

fingers crossed that tomorrow will make a difference.

Good night(morning) and I hope you will have a painfree night and tomorrow.

Sending positive thoughts your way. Hugs and prayers. Jan in CA +/:=)

Oh! I am EASTERN TIME ZONE!!! I am 3 hours ahead of you. I woke up bad

dream at 4 my time. 1 yours. I thought " bad dreams " were over with when

you grew up! NOT! I think it was all that Kitchen duty the other day.

Turkey must have been running around after me in kitchen with a load of

dirty dishes for me to wash, in my dream! Screaming at me, " One more

plate! One more plate! "

Hi, Elf,

Just so you will know, there are nearly always updated " driver "

software versions for printers, scanners, etc. at the web sites of the

manufacturers. HP's Deskjet printer drivers are updated quite often and can

be downloaded from the HP website. I check for new drivers every six months

or so for that and my Canon scanner. This is true even if the computer's

operating system is not changed.

These files are either " executable " simply by double clicking or by

using WinZip or other programs to get them to open for installation. There

will always be instructions on exactly how to download the needed files and

how to " decompress " them.
