Guest guest
Hi Marissa, and welcome! We're glad to have you, but sorry for the reason you're here. I think you'll be able to contribute a lot, after four years of living with JRA. My name's Carol, and I'm 37. I was diagnosed with RA last Feb. after about five years of symptoms that I tried to cure with natural health remedies rather than going to a Dr. Now I'm on Methotrexate, Plaquenil and Remicade. I live in Orlando, FL. We're glad you're here! Love and hugs, Carol [ ] My Introduction!! Greetings!!! My names is Marissa, from NJ, and 16. I have Polyarticular Juvenile Rheumatiod Arthritis since I was 12. Hopefully I will learn a lot from all of you and hopefully I will be able to contribute also. Hope to hear from ya'll soon. Guest guest
Welcome, Marissa! I wish one so young did not have to suffer the aches and pains that I know your condition gives you. It will do us " older " people good to have a younger one among us, and I look forward to hearing from you. The people in this group have given me many good suggestions, and often hugs just when I need them. Our arms are open to you, Judi in Indiana (Grandma of a 2-year old whose mommy is expecting triplets)
Guest guest
Hi Marissa, My name is Jen and I too have had Polyarticular Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 12, I am now 29. I've been threw a lot in all those years. I had to miss my whole 8th and most of my 9th grades of high school, but did manage to graduate with my class. I've also had my right hip replaced twice and my left hip replaced once. I've had two knee surgeries also. I think it's great that you found the group because it's nice to know their is other people out there going threw very similar things you are. It's alos nice to know that there is always someone to talk to that knows what you are going threw and can probably offer some good advice or just an open ear. Good Luck Jen > Greetings!!! Guest guest
Greetings Carol!!! Actually, I am not sorry for being here because if it wasnt for JRA I wouldn't be the person I am today. I am on Methotrexate orally, right now. I have been in remission for awhile, every once and awhile getting a flare. Ya know how it is. lol. Hope to get to know ya. Talk to ya soon. Guest guest
Wow, Marissa, what a great attitude! I agree completely about not being the person I am today if it weren't for what I've been through, and was just discussing this with a friend today. How wonderfull that you've got such a mature and positive outlook! Love and hugs, Carol [ ] Re: My Introduction!! Greetings Carol!!! Guest guest
Hi Marissa, Welcome to the group. I just love to get to know new members. I am sorry that you are having such health problems at such a young age, but happy to " meet " you. I am 35 and thought that I was young for this disease, but since I have met the people here, I know that I really belong to a wonderful group of people. When I was first diagnosed, my dr suggested a support group. I checked out all of the groups in the area and the average age of the participants was over 65 years old. I just felt so alone, almost like I was a freak of nature. Now I realize that there are many people who feel the same as I do. I also found out that most people don't have a clue when you say you have RA. They think that you just hurt when you overdo things. Or that it is just your joints that are affected. My whole life has changed since my diagnosis. Basically, I have been forced to start all over again. Don't mean to babble on and on, just wanted to welcome you to a fantastic group. Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
