Guest guest
Hello group, I need your advice. I am having allot of trouble finding enough protein to eat daily. What complicates things is I've gained about 15 lbs. and can't get rid of it! Naturally, I don't eat any soy. I don't like to eat too many nuts as they're pretty fattening. I don't eat a whole lot of bread or flour. I don't eat any cheese, meat or milk substitutes primarily because they taste lousy to me. I've tried a few vegan protein powders and they've taste pretty awful. The exception are the hemp seed ones. They're just awfully expensive for the amount I need daily. $14 for 16 servings at 12 grams of protein per serving (it can be purchased in bulk for $12 per lb., though). I need roughly 75-100 grams a day! I'm lucky if I get 20-40 grams a day. I have been looking for information online about protein for hypothyroid vegans and it's all pretty grim. A nutritionist fellow on 's site says that plant proteins are of such poor they hardly qualify as such. I don't know what to do! Can someone please help me? I would be so grateful for anyones advice. Thanks for listening, Mollie
