I use Xopenex in my nebulizer and have started getting the shakes after a breathing treatment. I do drink a lot of coffee. Anyone else with this problem? It does not wear off for about an hour......Lou

Yes. I cannot use Xopenex for this same reason. My doctor had given me Xopenex because Albuterol gives me the shakes and he told me Xopenex would not. Wrong for me! Xopenex was worse, so I went back to Albuterol. Marge

Because Xopenex has a different chemical makeup than albuterol, it

probably hasn't been studied enough to know if it's ok to mix with

other neb meds. I know the dr told me I wasn't allowed to mix my

Perforomist with either Xopenex or Duoneb, and it is a newer drug as

well.

I personally like the Xopenex much better than the albuterol. I

don't get the shakes & heart palpitations nearly as bad with the

Xopenex. Supposedly, it lasts longer in your system too. I actually

alternate using Xopenex and Duoneb. That way I'm not getting too

much of one or the other.
