Guest guest
Two weeks ago when I saw my rheumy, my white blood cell count was 2.5 (normal 4.0-10.5), which he said was totally unacceptable. So I was to stop taking the mtx, have bloodwork again in two weeks, and call him. So now the WBC count is still below normal, but has gone up to 2.8. My red blood cell count had gone from 3.88 to 4.11 (normal 4.20-6.00). Small steps, but both the rheumy and I were pleased. I can continue to take the Arava, which has helped me so much. Since I stopped taking the mtx, I can't tell much difference in the pain. I am still pretty much pain free except at night when I try to go to sleep when my legs ache. Also, I found out that my Sed Rate, which was 105 at diagnosis in August 2001, is now 13 (normal 0-30). My C-Reactive Protein has gone from 12.2 to 0 (normal 0.0-1.0). This shows how much progress I have made since then. I am extremely happy about those results. I have been well taken care of. Sue
