Guest guest
Hi , I have no idea how much 3ml is on a insulin syringe but I have an idea that might work for you for tonight at least. My Methotrexate viles say right on them that there is 2ml in the vile. So, that must mean you need to take 1 and 1/2 viles. You could just eye ball it that way or draw in the whole one vile and see how many units that equels on the syringe then go half that many again with the second vile. Unless you have bigger viles then I do but I've never gotten any bigger of a vile then the 2ml one. I don't know just an idea...... Guest guest
Hi ... Hold off for tonight and call your MD's office first thing tomorrow and speak with the nurse... It's better to delay rather than take more than you are supposed to. I am VERY surprised that your druggist doesn't know or can't help you...!! I too use the injectable... but I squirt the liquid into a 6oz. glass of either orange or apple juice and drink it down along with my other meds. I was never told to inject it into my body. Ask your MD tomorrow about doing that rather than injecting it into your body. FYI... insulin syringes are only in units not cc or ml - I used to work for Becton Dickinson in their office in Athens, Greece where I was a sales quotations administrator handling multi-million dollar tenders for the Middle East and North African countries... so, I am used to this type of technology. Let me know what happens... -- [ ] Question re MTX injection Hi All, I'm a lurker who is having trouble giving my first MTX injection. The pharmacy gave me an insulin syringe with units rather than cc's or ml's marked on it. I'm supposed to take 3 ml's once a week subq or .03. Anyone know where this would be on the syringe markings? The number 3 seems too easy and I'm afraid it would be too much. Any info would be appreciated as I'm supposed to take it tonight and my doc office is closed. Even the local pharmacist doesn't have a clue. Thanks, in NC
Guest guest
, I¹m not sure if this site will help, but it may. http://www.bddiabetes.com/us/yourinsulin/syringes_capacity.jsp According to this site the 50 u insulin syringe holds 50 u which equals 50/100 or 0.5 mL http://staff.lanecc.edu/~kirkpatv/chapter7moa.html Shame on that pharmacist! It¹s his job to know especially since he dispensed the syringes to you! If he didn¹t know, he should have found out. If the site doesn¹t help it¹s better to start taking it a day later than to take to much. a > Hi All, I'm a lurker who is having trouble giving my first MTX injection. > The pharmacy gave me an insulin syringe with units rather than cc's or ml's > marked on it. Guest guest
Hi Ken, My syringes are 100 units but I take 40 units or .4cc. I believe that yours would be 30 units or .3cc. I would suggest that you check this with a pharmacy. Do you have one that is open all night? Best of Luck.
