OK, now, to continue with Part 2 ....

Amarchand Varma came with his family from Kangra - his wife, Poonam, is a

Lecturer in Botany, and their son, Arnav is all of 11. Ashwini came along with

them on the train - I was waiting to recieve them at the station, wondering

whether they would recognise me - and vice versa - and then wondered why I

wondered at all ! Ashwini was just the same - except for the silver in his hair

- and Amarchand was looking prosperous ! Poonam is a very nice lady - she put up

with all our antics through the reunion.

Aradhana came in from UK. Sanjay and the children also had come to India, but

they had to stay put in Nagpur because the children were down with viral fever.

we missed them at the reunion. Aradhana is just the same, not a bit of change in

her, except that she has cut her long hair. It was the second " official " reunion

for both Aradhana and me - with our respective spouses in '82 batch, so, I

guess, it was reunion part 2 for us !

Dhananjay came from Dakota, USA. He had come to India after 8 long years - and

he came just for the reunion. His wife, Suvarna, and daughter, Rutuja- 6 years

old - stayed put in Nagpur to catch up with friends and family, so we missed

them. Dhananjay definitely looks prosperous, his voice is much deeper, and,

though he insisted that he was out of practice, he sang wonderfully at the

reunion.

Karan Balani came from Ulhasnagar with his wife Ritu and children Mahak and

Harsh. It was a pleasure getting to know his family. Ritu is a very nice person

and she just mingled with everybody almost as if it was her reunion. I wish I

had more time with her.

Fateh came with his wife Surekha, and children Meghana and Arihant, from Rewadi.

Fateh also looks the same, and even sounds the same ! Prasad Deshmukh was also

there - he's now Prof of ENT in Sawangi, Wardha. There was absolutely no change

in him at all - he can still easily pass off as an undergraduate student !! I

wonder how he manages it !

Prashant Fulzele, and his charming wife, , had organised the picnic - it

was at a holiday resort near Nagpur - lovely place, with gardens, boating, and a

park with swings to occupy the children. , in addition to being beautiful,

is very friendly and it was almost as if she was the host at the reunion. She is

a gynaecologist. Their daughter, Esha, 12, was taking care of most of the

younger children. It was a pleasure to get to know them.

Sanjiv Sharma - our dear " laddoo " - had come from Gurgaon with his wife Jaya, and

children Prerna and Pratham. He had just not changed, only, the laddoo seemed to

have become a barfi instead ! He is doing extremely well in his practice at

Gurgaon.

Vijay Deotale had come from Chandrapur, along with his wife - Aasawari, and son,

Aditya. Vijay certainly looks prosperous, and it seems he wields tremendous

influence in Chandrapur.

Jagmohan Gulati came in from Anwar, and he still looks and sounds the same ! I

wish he had brought his family, it would have been really wonderful !

................to be continued in Part 3 :-)
