Guest guest
Although your own ISP most likely has a Spam policy and suggestions for you to avoid receiving unwanted email, usually it is more important that the OFFENDER's ISP is contacted (whether you do it, your ISP does it, or some other party reports the abuse). Guest guest
I forwarded the message to abuse@... and told them that I had requested not to be contacted and yet the email abuse continued. I also let them know that this person joined this group and harvested email addresses and is spamming the members. Maybe if everyone forwards the email to aol, they will deal with it as they are supposed to. a > Although your own ISP most likely has a Spam policy and suggestions for > you to avoid receiving unwanted email, usually it is more important that > the OFFENDER's ISP is contacted (whether you do it, your ISP does it, or > some other party reports the abuse). > > > > > [ ] Tena - Spam - eeeek > > >> > Hi Tena...I'm not sure where you'd send your spam...I think a or >> > might know...mine goes directly to the webtv spam department. Guest guest
Hi, a, I did the same thing, but I also complained to the filtering service on my account at the local ISP. The filters do not pick up his messages and isolate them because he is not using the " key " words, " Money " or whatever. They had to manually add his e-addy to the " denied " list on my account. I do hvae to pay extra to my ISP for that service, but that $1 per month is more than worth it to keep the spam out of my Inbox. That will stop him from getting his mail to me, but those who do not have filtering on their accounts will still hear from him until AOL does something about him. I also have an AOL account, so using that account name and the fact that I have to connect to them by TCP/IP may help, but I don't know how soon anything will get done. Besides, all he has to do is change his username on AOL and start all over again... Ugh! I hate spammers! Guest guest
Dianne, A dollar a month is worth getting rid of spam. If my ISP offered it, I¹d surely pay. I share your feelings about spammers. a > Hi, a, > > I did the same thing, but I also complained to the filtering service > on my account at the local ISP. Guest guest
Hi, a, My ISP began offering this service about two years ago and I jumped at the chance. I moderate a number of lists at , and before I realized how quickly email addresses can be harvested, I was added to some really nasty lists that I was not able to unsubscribe from. The other trick I learned was how to use the " Rules " settings in my email programs. If I do not want to hear from someone, I use the " Rules " on their incoming mail and it goes to the trash or back to their server as a kind of revenge. Anything I receive that directs me to a hyperlinked web site is going to have the " Rules " used on it. Trying to unsub from a web site is a sure way to do two things: Not get off of their list and it gives them a chance to share your address with others. Guest guest
Dianne, I¹ve also been added to those nasty lists, especially Korean ones. I¹m glad for email filters that allow me to have it sent right to my trash bin where it belongs. a > Hi, a, > > My ISP began offering this service about two years ago and I jumped > at the chance.
