Hello Mandar..and everybody,

Been ages..since..I last remember seeing you out here..

Welcome back..

Why just the ?3,...including..the strange..query..of..WHERE..BUTIBORI..is..?!!!

U mean..the entire TOWN..has..just disappeared,from the map...,..and U want to

know..where it has..gone underground,!!

Or like..some of the locals out here, in the Arab world,..name their

kids..as..TOOR-KI(as in " Turkey " ..pronounced in local correct dialect)...or for

that matter..some name their kids..even Riyadh,or as Hind

(yes...meaning..Hindiya..)...which we...outsiders..often joke..as,probably

the..place..of conception...,or trying to..find new names....for their long list

of kids...

Looks like,...this is..a Net addicts..worst nightmare..and..a teacher's.greatest

dream....to see..so many..of those registered out here,...go into PIN DROP

SILENCE...in last few days..

Meaning...,is there..no...EARTH BREAKING...Topic..left to discuss..at this

moment,friends...!!

On that note...,the discovery of cellphones..has..brought about not just the

WORLD..Closer,as they say..,but have.made..first-time..phone calls..to some of

old college friends..after nearly 16yrs..,an affair to remember..

As,I remember..calling...up,Dilip Prahlad Supe,the tall dashing(as he put

it,while others had their own opinion)...hunk,of my batch..,the first time..,for

the Reunion..and..he was..travelling...in..MSRTC..rickety bus..from

Ratnagiri..to Pen..,and once.,he..knew..who was the other..side..of the phone..

His conversation..went..somewhat like..this..

" Aare...Kamath!!,Tu...aaare..what a surprise..yaar...

(then..I could hear..whispers,in the background..... " Sorry..sorry..,nahi kahi

nahi.. " .)

And I thought,probably..he must have been so happy to reconnect with

his..batchmate..like me,..that he must have startled his..fellow passenger.from

deep slumber....or..bumped..his elbow..into the poor man's forehead.....,and

hence the apology...

Good old days of carefree friendship....
