Anyone for ping pong?

Hello, this is the ping pong ball speaking. Remember me? " Only

Fibro " ? OK, now that we've got that cleared up, I went to the

therapist yesterday, referred by the rheumy. She did more extensive

tests and questions than the rheumy, and she feels that it is NOT

fibro! OK, then what is it? She said I didn't have tender points,

but trigger points, and that the pain DID seem to be centered around

the joints rather than the muscles. she tested my hands for strength

and mobility, and found them seriously lacking and is sending me to

another therapist who specializes in hand therapy. She feels that my

body is out of alignment (lower on the left side) due to the ankle

fractures I suffered years ago, and the osteo in the ankles is

causing everything else to shift. She also said there is only about

40% movement in my neck. She noted the " weird " color of my hands and

feet, reddish-blue from fingers to mid-palm and toes to mid-foot, and

when I told her about the bruises I get on my hands from doing simple

things like opening a car door or applauding at a concert, she was

disturbed about that, but said that the other therapist would address

that.

The Ultracet effects seem to have worn off, and not only was I in

pain yesterday, but really bad deep pain in hands, elbows, knees,

shoulders, jaw, and feet last night and couldn't sleep. Ron held me

part of the night, but I felt bad about keeping him awake too, so

after he went to sleep, I went down to the den and read a book.

Finally got sleepy about 6, so came upstairs and slipped back into

bed and slept until 8.

Oddly enough, my attitude is better than it has been recently. I am

going to bake coffee cakes today for gifts, and make buckeyes. We

have our bowling Christmas party tonight. Yes, I am still bowling.

It hurts, but it would hurt worse to give it up. If Ron can keep

bowling in spite of his difficulties, so can I. There is a man in

our league who has had so many surgeries and illnesses, he says after

the last one they put him back together wrong and had spare parts.

He has no feeling in his left arm and hand (he is left-handed) so he

has to look to be sure his fingers are in the holes of the bowling

ball. He has the highest average in the league (about 180!)

Well, enough griping for today. Just had to get this off my chest.

If you guys smell anything good, it is just my kitchen. Drop by and

I'll fix you some Christmas tea and put out a plate of buckeyes.

Big hugs to you all,

Judi
