It helped me a great deal to go to a " chronic conditions " counselor.

She helps me to deal with the permanent change in my life from a chronic

condition.

The wonderful lady I have now has had fibromyalgia herself for over 20 years

so she knows

what its like to battle the medical community.

I heard like many of you early on that I was " depressed " , " stressed " and

needed some " valium " and I would be all better.

Fortunately too I have fired a good many doctors and only keep around me the

ones that will do

what the specialists ask and support and want to learn about our conditions.

As Kathleen, Sally, Ray and some others on this listserv know I have been

extremely suicidal and besides the counselor it has been this support group

that not only saved my life but has kept me going. I appreciate all of them

and

the message to anyone else is that is what we are here for.

BUT get medication and medical help when you need it AND do not always

assume everything is chiari. I have almost died twice in the last 5 years from

conditions unrelated to chiari. But treatment was delayed because they thought

it was chiari.

Prayers for everyone,

Kathy
