Subject: Re: tachycardia and albuterolTo: asthma Date: Saturday, 20 December, 2008, 7:24 PMLevalbuterol or Xopnex (zopnex) is a chemically re engineered version of albuterol. The product manufacture says it does not cause an increase in hart rate if used every 6-8 hours apart. That said I know one person who has just the opposite reaction so it could go the other way with you too. Just to be clear, I know many people it has work for. If albuterol is giving you unpleasant side effects, you may want to re evaluate your asthma plan. It's possible you could be using it too much. The national guide lines say if you are using your "rescue" inhaler more then 2 times per week, your asthma is considered out of control and you need to see your doctor about getting some other asthma medications. Years ago, albuterol and medications like it were first line drugs for asthma. Now they are considered rescue or emergency medications. I know some can't get buy with out using it everyday. And I guess if they are fine with that and can take the side effects, then let them do it. But those who are not fine with the side effects, there are other options out there. > > > > Wow, still opposites . . . I can't stay awake, especially after > about 5pm. Guest guest
It's called Xoponex, I use it. Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning Program Established August of 1992 tachycardia and albuterol tachycardia and albuterol Hi Mike, Someone here had mentioned using something that was easier on the heart. Anybody know what is was? Are you taking any supplements for the heart situation? (magnesium, L-carnitine, hawthorne, CoQ10, taurine, etc...) Alana > > Wow, still opposites . . . Guest guest
It is Xoponex. It is a fancified version of albuterol. However, when they gave it to me it did not work. You may want to ask your doc for a sample and try it while having your regular albuterol inhaler handy until you see how it works for you. Madeline > > > > Wow, still opposites . . .
