Guest guest
, One aspect of autoimmune thyroid disease is that people seem to suffer from all sorts of allergies and sensitivities/intolerances. Often the person had no history of such problems. I have seen and read enough to be convinced that you are not crazy. I am not a diagnosed thyroid sufferer but I have been getting some degree of throat closing this year. I put it down to pollen because of the pattern in which it occurred. What I did was take a Loratadine (Clarityn) tablet on days when this affected me. Although not much of an answer, it might just help you get through if you get this again. Of course, check patient information before taking. You might find that you get on better with one brand of 'natural' thyroid or synthetic levothyroxine better than another. For example, Canadian Erfa, or US Westhroid or NatureThroid among the porcine extracts. In the synthetics, Levoxyl has the fewest ingredients - but I have no idea how to predict whether any specific brand is more or less likely to affect you. On a side note, it is common for hypothyroidism sufferers to need to supplement with vitamin B12, potassium and magnesium. Others will have their own views on appropriate supplements. All the best Rod > > Hi my name is > I was recently diagnosis with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I have been on 3 thyroid meds, Amour Thyroid, Levothroxine,Cytomel. I have had a reaction to each(throat closing and rash on the inside of throat). I just started Synthroid 3 days ago. I hope I am able to take it. The doctors all say I am crazy and could not be having any kind of reaction, it must be coincidence. I was on Amour Thyroid twice to make sure that is what it was. I am not on any other medication, and have never had anything like this before. If anyone else has had these problems I would like to hear about it. > Thanks >
