hi this joyce,

ive read some posts about the pitutary gland, my 15 yr old daughter has a chiari

of one report saying 9mm other report saying 6-7 mm chiari, she has a swollen

pitutary gland, they said is 11mm and is suggested she have a detailed study

done on it.

she is scheduled to see an endroctringeoligist next week in sacramento.

ive not heard to much on this issue and so i dont know exactly what would be

done or not.

she is like my other daughters who are at times very irritable and they also

have pitutary problems.

my 27 yr old daughter has even before i even head of chiari, had mris and has

seen endroctrineologst many times. they told her she has a tumor size of a pea,

it is too small to be seen. her prolacatin level gets up to 250 -300 and dr has

had her on a med i forgot the name, dimox maybe or something similr sounding.

she is always hot, in winter she wears tank tops and she is nausas and iritable

very much!

she is my second oldest daughter next to my daughter jennifer we lost in dec

2000 to complication of chiari related problems.

she was told by one facility she does not have chiari. yet she has hormone and

pitutary issure like all the rest of my kids who do have varients of chiari. she

is actually worse than the others in this area.

none of my kids are ill, most have like i said pitutary or hormone and sweating,

headaches, they can deal without meds usually.

my 17 yr old son has flat pitutary and sweats excessively and is bothered by it

very much, he is also iritable a lot too.

my oldest we lost was very extremely irritabale she could be so bad then be

ok.my 19 yr old is very similar to my oldest.

sometimes theyl wake up from sleep confused sometimes with redish eyes, but then

they are ok.my oldest had this often and so does my 17 yr old son.

i get pretty frustrated since after the loss of my oldest and finding all have

chiari that medical support was not there and was suprised at not being able to

discuss symptoms and the possible connection of all there litte ailments.

i needed communication and follow up with questions and help whenever needed.

i still am frustrated with this, and believe it is from drs fear of lawsuits

and things like this that if too much is said or told a problem could arise.

i have wanted to just at times just ignore some of thier complaints because i

think im taking them to the dr to much and being stupid about it, but when i

know what is really going on with medical community i cant so i follow up until

i feel things are ok for them.

thier pcp told me last visit with one of my kids that my managed care insureance

asked him to dump us, he said no. they told him we are the most refferred

family in san joaquin county.

my 15 yr old also is suppossed to see an electropylogist next week and they are

saying they may deny her to see one, he rcardilogist had her on a month monitor

and found her heart rate goes 150 and higher and said she has trachacardia

.. i dont know or have any idea if its chiari related because she isnt followed

by a dr watching the chiari situation, i will decide myself when suggestions are

made what they want to do for it. she isnt ill with chiari, just issues like

hormones and pitutary like i mentioned.

my third daughter has issues similar, retroflexed odidoid, 9mm chiari, not ill,

only gets headaches twice yr and sick in bed few days with it.

so much time and money on playing games with us when they could take care of

some things right away and so many dr visits and er visits could be illimated

because of all the delays.

i wrote about my neurologist appnt the other day and i felt worse mentaly

speaking after leaving and it made me think of a post i read , mentioning

laughter love, things like this help your spirit.

i had taken my son to the er the other night because he had sudden pain and

we thought he had a hernia. they kept him over night and told us they called a

surgeon because they thought it was appendex because his white count was

elevated.

next morning the surgeon said he could go home watch see how he does.

the surgeon was my surgeon who had done my surgery a few months eairler said

he was happy to see me gave me hug and it lifted my spirt that day.

anyway, just needed to talk i guess,
