Guest guest
Hello Group, Hope you all are doing as well as can be expected. We left for NY on Dec. 2 and returned on Dec. 24. As I said before. I was soooo glad to be home for Christmas. Hope you all had a good one. We were so fortunate to be able to stay at the Variety House. We saw some familiar faces from our trip in Oct. and met some new friends. There as well as in th e hospital. Surgery went well I guess. The person who went with me wasn't in the waiting room when surgery was over so no Dr. could talk to anyone. It wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. I had a few set backs. I got Meningitis and an abscess/collection of fluid in my lower neck. So I was put on steroids and antibiotics. It really wasn't until Dr.B took a needle and withdrew 4cc of blood and blood clot from my neck that I really started to feel better. I have a hereditary blood disease that causes my blood to clot easily. I was in the hospital for about 14 days. My friend who came with me went AWAL because I had to stay longer than we expected. So she left. That made things hard for me but I owe a huge thanks to Dennis and others at the VH who were a great help to me. Like Dave and , as well as and . Glenda and her husband too. BTW Glenda if your reading this I haven't forgotten about the ice pack holder. I'll get in touch with you. There 's a Pastor from a church I go to when I'm in NY. He got a couple from his church to get me to the airport. The wife was a nurse and they were so nice and helpful to me. It's too bad NY seems to have such a bad rap. My experience has been that if you really need help New Yorkers really do have a heart of gold. I'm healing well as far as I can tell. Do I see any improvements? I'd have to say ,yes. Enough that I'm glad I did it? So far, yes. My question for those who are Fused. Have any of you had trouble holding up your head? Does it get better? When? I know we're all different just a general idea will help. That's all for now.
