Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestions, Iris. I went with Ron to the orthopedic specialist this morning for his knee. He has a torn cartilage, but no other damage, so the dr. is treating with, first, a shot of cortisone in the knee which has helped tremendously and, second, a weeks' worth of Celebrex. He said if it's not better in 2 weeks, to come back for an MRI and he would consider arthroscopic correction. I asked him about my case, and he said definitely I should get the opinion of another rheumy. After reading Kathi's post about Raynaud's I am more convinced than ever it is not only FM, but probably something besides, since my hands do turn patriotic colors, and it doesn't have to be particularly cold either. But cold does affect them more, and then they ache horribly. I am going to take pictures next time that happens so at least I have proof if it doesn't happen while I'm in her office. The therapist noticed it too, and that is why she is sending me to her colleague, a hand therapist. It is just so sad that we have to go through so much in order to get a handle on these diseases. I hate feeling like a hypochondriac or a complainer but * & %$@! I want answers! So how are you doing? Any improvement with you? Don't overdo with all your holiday preparations. I have yet to bake a cookie, just made the buckeyes. I got all the gifts wrapped today, and am about to finish up some ironing that has sat around way too long. Besides, that makes my hands warm (though getting stiff from holding the iron.) Take care now, Hugs, Judi
