Hi ,

I had really bad sinus headaches and issues in high school and the only thing

besides meds with " the p-word " that helped me was a machine that worked somewhat

like a nebulizer. I bought it at the drug store. It had a little hot pot in

the bottom that I could but watter or a sinus solution in and a face part that I

put my head in. The really moist warm and sometimes medicated air seamed to

help me a lot. It cleared my sinuses and decreased my headaches. I did have to

bend my head forward to contact the face mask on machine though so check with

your doctor to make sure this position is okay if you want to try it. I

honestly don't even know if they make them any more, I think it was in the isle

with the vaporizers.

Let me know if you want any more info,

What to do for sinus type and Chiari

related headache?

Hi,

I have had a migraine, really bad this week. I have headaches every

day but they get really bad at times, not uncommon I know. :(

Usually when they get this bad I have sinus pressure also. Is there

anything I can do for the sinus headaches, besides take Sudafed or meds

with phenylanine in it? I can't take Sudafed or the other meds with

the p-word in it b/c they intensify my headache. I usually end up

going to the Dr and get an antibiotic. I saw Dr. Oz mention something

on Oprah that helps sinus sufferers but I can't remember what it was.

Some tea kettle sounding thing?! I have already had 3 sinus

infections this past year, anything else I can do for the sinus pain

and horrid headache besides those meds and a hot shower??

Thanks a million!!

Hi guys...

this is one of my sore spots and simply HAD to reply to this....

Prior to my decompression, essentially 17 years ago...I had numerous " sinus

infections " .

It was actually a " severe sinus impactation " diagnosis that led to my

diagnosis of chiari. ( My " story is in " about us "

http://www.chiariconnectioninternational.com/)

" Amazingly " this sinus impactation did not respond to essentially 7

different sinus medication regimes. <g>

I honestly don't know if these were true " sinus infections " that were caused

by the chiari or ( I tend to believe) conditions that mimicked " sinus

infections " that were actually chiari issues!

All I know is that since my decompression...again 17 years ago,,, I have had

NO SINUS infections/problems at all. Thus I question the true " sinus

involvement " with this whole thing....
